“I’ve always had an eye for small details, and I create my work with a meticulous hand. Watercolors and hot press paper are my media of choice, accented with pen, pencil, acrylic and gouache. Some of my paintings are planned from the sketch stage, others are organic and spontaneous, letting the natural textures of the paper and pigments guide my brush, allowing surreal landscapes and creatures to create themselves.
My work is an homage to nature, mythology, childhood fantasy and nostalgia. Inspiration comes from little treasures, hidden in plain sight, and often ignored in everyday life; the delicate tracery of moss and lichens on an abandoned fence, twisting roots exposed by erosion, the veins of a budding leaf backlit by the sun. I hope my paintings remind viewers to appreciate the little details in life, recall childhood fairytales, and to explore the world around with fresh, curious eyes.”

Rebecca Sinz is a fantasy, fairy and gothic artist from Michigan, who creates art that is full of mystery and feminine beauty. She often goes by the name ElvenstarArt. She was in our first deck, and then rejoins us again for Astral!

B. 1981, Kingston NY
Aja Trier is a fine artist residing in Scotia, NY. She attended Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA with a concentration in painting from 2001-2003.
Aja’s work focuses primarily on the female figure and how she reacts with her surroundings. The current body of work utilizes mixed media such as acrylic, ink, enamel, spray paint, and even glitter encased in resin on cradled wooden panels. Several layers of materials are built up over the course of the creation of the painting, melding background, foreground, and figure together in a visceral swirl of color. Texture has always been a prominent quality in her work, and this new body of work continues to explore the push and pull between subject and medium. Emphasis on movement is heightened by the application of paint directly to wet resin, wherein the materials themselves become collaborators in each finished piece.

Sue Rundle-Hughes loves to draw stories. She creates most of her children’s illustrations using a combination of traditional and digital techniques, scanning in her pencil drawing and working with it in Photoshop. When she paints traditionally, she favours acrylic, ink, watercolour, gouache and pencil.

Anastasia Smith’s passions are wildlife and super-hero/fantasy art. She graduated from the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art in 2002 and has since been working on several projects. Photography is her second passion and many of her works are fueled by images she captured with her trusty Canon.

Shana has a great eye and has been providing unique and iconic designs, illustrations, and even brands to the graphic design industry for years. An FIT alumnus, she focuses mainly on branding & illustration for fashion/beauty, women, and children. She also helped to build our brand from the ground up. Shana has graced us with her awesome art since deck 1.

Mary Layton’s favorite media are watercolor, pencil, pen & ink, and digital, and she uses them to create beautiful mythic, fairy and fantasy art. She has also been known to dabble in photography and both prints of her paintings and her photography can be found on her web site. Mary has graced us with her presence for every one of our decks.

Carol Phillips was born in Hawaii, but spent most of her childhood years nestled near a rich riverside forest in picturesque Oregon. Carol has a love for painting the figure, portraiture and environments. She loves to work in traditional mediums such as oils, and pastel , but also modern media such as digital painting. She is primarily self taught.
As a child she was captivated by the beauty of the natural world and immersed herself in the realms of fantasy and adventure. The creation of fantastical creatures, characters and worlds continues to fascinate her and she wishes to share these creations with others. Through her art she hopes to provide a glimpse into these beautifully mysterious worlds.

This gorgeous Work in Progress is The Meditation Card, which is being created by Italian Artist @simonacandini. The Meditation Card is the beginning of our decks, and it is a card that can be used in any manner you feel comfortable with. If you feel comfortable with reading with this as an extra oracle card – it often adds an extra aspect to the reading. If you do not like to read with it, you can use it to meditate on at the beginning of your reading, to welcome the energy of Astral to your space.
Simona Candini was born in Bologna, Italy where she graduated at the Academy Of Fine Arts University.
During her years studying at the Academy she had the opportunity to exhibit her artwork at many art shows.
Simona spent four years across USA where she started offering her original paintings to collectors from all over the world directly through her online shops and art galleries.
Since 2010 Simona is working as a full time artist primarily within the pop surreal genre.
Her works embody a beautiful yet sometimes dark world inhabited by big eyed girls and improbable creatures. With a stirring of emotions translated onto each new work of art, Simona brings her love of the old fairytales and childhood imaginings to us in a unique and poetic way. She is a traditional artist and enjoys using acrylics, oils, watercolor, graphite and pencils.

Finally I can show you to you all on a April’s full moon, The Moon Card that I made for the 78 Tarot Astral !! I feel so lucky to work with this awesome people for 3rd time!
I try to make a very emotive but powerful illustration, using as inspiration some of the movies of Georges Méliès, The Smashing Pumpkins song “Tonight Tonight” and “Hijo de la Luna” song from Mecano.
