9 Squares - 1 (alboardman)
Yesterday (Monday 2nd March 2015) we launched ‘9 Squares’. It’s a great little project that’s an international collaboration of 9 different designer/animators.
Each designer creates an abstract, 350px, 3 second animated square to make up a single GIF loop, from a 4-colour palette. This is my contribution full size. See the full 9 Squares version here, with the other 8 fantastic squares all together on our brand new Tumblr: 9 Squares.

Fantastic evening at #dotdotdot event last night. Real honour to be there to talk about 9-squares to a great crowd. Thanks to all those who have contributed to this incredible project so far. We have lots more exciting rounds planned. Thank you to all at onedotzero for having me.

Thanks to the organisers for having us create such a fantastic contribution to a great sounding event. Humbled to have our little project and my individual square play a small part in this prestigious event alongside such animation and motion design talent.

After much deliberating, we have decided to put 9 Squares on an indefinite hiatus. You’ll still see the archive here on Tumblr and we may pop up now and again for special occasions, but we are no longer curating the regular squares. We’re truly humbled by the response our project gained, and are so grateful to everyone who took the time to design a square or get involved in some other way: you made 9 Squares the success and inspiration it became. We can’t wait to see the new directions and collaborations the motion design community comes up with next.
