i fully and completely believe that if it had gotten out that the corpse was jurgen leitner, the entire institute would have just went ‘yeah, jon totally did it, and i think he should get the noble peace prize for it,’ and given him the hero treatment. he bounces between institute employees’ houses and they shake his hand and hide him from the cops while he pets their cats.
when he gets exonerated, they all assure him that theyknow that he took out leitner and that’s what matters, and then throw him a massive welcome back party. he gets all the credit for leitners death in the supernatural community and elias is fucking seething.
