It’s been about 5 actual years since I actively thought about this AU beyond one or two generic doodles, but I finally started playing KH3 this week (for the first time, yes, in the year of our lord 2022) and it unlocked an ancient door deep in my brain.
I have broken links to fix and old cringe to run damage control on, but I also have New Thoughts so.
I’ve always vaguely assumed that the enchanted weapons used by the ducklings could change size. They’re the Dive to the Heart Dream weapons from KH1, which were already large in Sora’s hands, so they’d be unusably huge to the ducklings unless they could shrink.
Well KH3 Trinity Sled absolutely shows that Goofy’s shield can enlarge to accommodate more riders. So! Dewey and Huey’s weapons stay small for them, but Louie has a habit of letting his shield pop back to its original size (or even larger) to use as shelter and transportation.
