The 10th episode of Constructing Kingdoms is now live on YouTube. In this episode, I’ll be discussing a particular character archetype I’ve noticed pop up in various KH theories several times over the years, the most common interpretation of how the series will implement it, and my own interpretation, incorporating key details that are typically overlooked.
This will be my last episode for at least the next few months, as I’ll be taking a break once I upload this so that I can recharge and focus on other projects that I let fall by the wayside in the last eight months I’ve spent focused on making these videos.
A must watch analysis about Riku and Soras pivotal role on the future of Kingdom Hearts
So I just noticed that Mirage Split and Nightmare’s End don’t exclusively have angel or demon wings.
Nightmare’s End (Sora’s keyblade) has angel wings on the handle and keychain, but above the handle you’ll notice the design is more reminiscent of a demon’s wing.
Mirage Split similarly has demon wings on its handle and keychain, but an angel’s wing above the handle.

This further suggests how Sora and Riku work in yin yang. One is not completely darkness and the other is not completely light. They balance each other out
One thing I really love about Soriku is that while there are substantial moments like when Sora falls to his knees crying in KH2 or Riku’s sacrifice in KH3, most of their moments aren’t big and grand and jaw-dropping. They connect in the small moments, the little comments and interactions. Like Sora wanting to talk to Riku after arriving in San Fransokyo in KH3. Or Riku calling Sora a sap in KH2. Soriku isn’t a ship made from a few key moments. It’s made from a 3 hour collection of interactions of two people naturally loving and caring about one another. It’s the two of them bickering over their height in Re:Coded. It’s Sora begging Riku to tell him his secret in Birth by Sleep. It’s Sora making Riku laugh with a silly face in KH2. It’s Riku asking Sora if he’s okay after the KHUX segment in KH3. It’s every single stinking time they sit on that paopu tree and watch the waves. This is how Sora and Riku say they love one another without saying they love one another.
