you guys realize ‘reblog bait’ is a trigger tag for psychosis that can be set off by posts that say things like ‘reblog this or your dog dies’ ‘reblog this or you’ll never be happy again’ ‘reblog this to win a million dollars’ and not for posts like ‘hey rb this and put in the tags x thing’ right

okay since some people in the notes are confused, and to be fair I didn’t word this post very well, here’s some examples on how to tag things

reblog bait: reblog this and you’ll have good luck for 10 years

reblog game: reblog and put your favorite color in the tags

reblog bait: if you don’t reblog this, we can’t be mutuals

reblog game: reblog to give your mutuals a stuffed animal

reblog bait: you’re a terrible person if you don’t share this, I don’t care about your blogs aesthetic

reblog game: reblog and tell me if you’re right or left handed

basically, just think. is the post giving a threat, ultimatum or guilt trip? if so, it goes under reblog bait! a post saying to reblog but doesn’t have anything like the above would go under reblog game. hope this clears stuff up

Unreality is defined as the quality or state of being unreal: lack of substance or validity. However, the internet and delusional individuals define unreality differently:

Unreality typically focuses on a concept which is disconnected from Reality, and whose purpose is to provoke typically existential thought, or to invoke feeling unsettled or fearful in the observer temporarily. However, unreality often invokes feelings of persecution, extreme distress, and delusional-thinking in psychotic individuals long-term.

It’s important that we do our best to shield our psychotic and delusional audience from unreality - delusions are often traumatizing to live with, and being exposed to this content can re-traumatize us by shooting us into a psychotic episode which could last anywhere from a few hours to years. Many of us use the internet as a form of escapism - escaping a world which feels like it’s constantly out-to-get us and where we’re never safe, so it’s important that we’re all practicing internet safety to the best of our ability.

Examples of things which should be tagged as #unreality:

  • ARGs
  • AI-generated content: neuralblender
  • Internet horror stories: creepypastas, SCPs, “live ghost caught on camera.”
  • “Posts from a [different] timeline”
  • Certain content which talks about spirituality or religion in detail, specifically content which involves the divine interacting with the non-divine: angel numbers, hearing messages
  • Content which features threats directed at the person reading it (even if it’s a joke to you, it can be very triggering for us.)
  • Content which speaks of folklore as if it’s Reality: “how to time travel,” “spell for summoning a demon,” “how to reality shift.” (it doesn’t matter if it’s part of your religion - it still causes us harm.)
  • Reality checking (please stop making “positivity” posts about this!)
  • Weirdcore, traumacore, ventcore & similar aesthetics, especially those which feature liminal spaces, quotes of threats, weapons, or excessive blood & gore
  • “Based on a true story”-type media
  • Conspiracy theories
  • Media which features heavy dystopian themes
  • Posts which are meant to convince the reader that OP or a person who the post is talking about is not real (again, it may be a joke to you, but it’s distressing to us.)

Thanks for reading and trying to be a better ally to delusional and psychotic people, and making the internet a safer and kinder place for us! <3

Fellow epileptics, I have some fantastic news for you. There’s an add-on that makes the internet safer for us. It’s called Epilepsy Blocker. The creator had me test it out, give feedback, he made adjustments, and it works great. It may even help those with migraine disorders that are triggered by the same thing that messes with those of use with photosensitive epilepsy (mine is a case of being absurdly sensitive).

This is the only add-on I’ve encountered made specifically for those of us with epilepsy. It’s not a well known add-on, but I hope to see that change.

Gentle reminder that your work-arounds for these tag issues should not include replacing letters with numbers or other symbols that will made the words illegible to screen reader users.

I’ve seen this mentioned a couple times in the tags, so let me assure you all that adding apostrophes should be completely fine. #’girl’ should not interfere with screen readers.

A few additional notes based on things I’m seeing in reblogs and tags:

  • Yes, adding a period work too. #girl.is very accessible.
  • Using numbers instead of letters does in fact make things difficult for dyslexic people too, this is an added disadvantage.
  • Using numbers instead of letters does in fact make you sound like a Homestuck too, this is an added disadvantage.
  • Using asterisks instead of letters to censor words is a bad idea, it can greatly impede screen reader users.
  • This only applies to tags, you do not need to (and absolutely should not) start censoring your post’s content.
