#after effects

A little video for my final project in After Effects class! Went into it without a clear idea beyond “animal character, environment… After Effects???” But I’m really happy with how it turned out. Somewhere near the 11th hour I realized, “OH, this could be the start screen of a made-up video game!” And now I want to play this made-up video game. Drat.

Music by Alexi Murdoch, my favorite morning drawing music. Also, I was heavily inspired by the amazing geometric fox designs of an artist called Skia (ty Babs!) when making this, and it probably shows! (I feel like it’s better to call it out myself than pretend it isn’t there?? But also, I have, like, 5 followers [love u all] and so it probably doesn’t matter AT ALL?)

I know that I rarely post on here, but there’s been a pretty compelling reason behind my absence; I’ve just completed and published my 2016 video. The process of creating this took over three months of strenuous editing, with most of the days including binge-eating, staying up until 3 AM, and regretting everything.

Anyways, I would be very appreciative if you took a look at the video, even if you skim through it, or only watch 5 minutes of it. Thank you all very much for your constant support. I’m looking forward to what 2017 will bring us.
