This is a short travel film of my recent 5 day adventure around Japan which went from the 6th - 10th of February 2020, hosted by JNTO // Tobu Railway.

During my brief visit I got the opportunity to explore Tokyo, Nikko, Shibuya, Asakusa & a lot more unusual but breath taking locations in between. I hope you enjoyed this short film documenting my travels for my journal & many thanks to the amazing people I met along the way.

I know that I rarely post on here, but there’s been a pretty compelling reason behind my absence; I’ve just completed and published my 2016 video. The process of creating this took over three months of strenuous editing, with most of the days including binge-eating, staying up until 3 AM, and regretting everything.

Anyways, I would be very appreciative if you took a look at the video, even if you skim through it, or only watch 5 minutes of it. Thank you all very much for your constant support. I’m looking forward to what 2017 will bring us.

Useless Trivia:

• I wrote the story during my ski holidays, back in March 2017 and doodled a first Story Board version

• Doodled the final Story Board in November/December 2017

• Decided of the low framerate (=P) around Januaryand made my first anim test back then (original vid available here)

• Worked on the assets a little bit every evenings I could between January and February

• Blocked out the whole Layout within a day and a half in February

• Animated the whole project between February and March

• Mr. Light lit it in a tiny weekend!

I think this song it’s still remarkably poignant for the times we are living. 2020 has been a rough year but let’s hope that, any day now, we see the light shining. Let’s take this opportunity to change and improve our world, to make it a fairer place.
