is there like a port key to albania from hogwarts or something? how did weakened voldemort AND peter pettigrew manage to get there without getting caught?

here’s a couple ideas that might help you :)

Ok, so i started with some research- hogwarts is said to be located in scotland, in an area near Dufftown, Moray. So we can probably say that hogwarts is located in moray.

let’s start with peter- he probably would’ve gone most of the way in his animagus form to avoid detection/recognition. because rats are small, but they can scurry pretty quickly, so we’d need to take into account that peter would be traveling pretty fast. so he’s on ground, walking from moray to any woodland area of albania, we don’t seem to know exactly which forested part that voldemort was in- it’s just, ‘the forests of albania’. there’s also a bunch of sea and like 6 other countries between moray and albania, and presuming that for the sake of less travel, this forest is right at the north edge of albania, it’ll take around 15-20 days to get there. in goblet of fire, peter is told to have been able to speak to other rodents, so he probably used that ability to move along and find his way.

voldemort- he says in the books that he used to possess animals for a period of time to move along till the animals died from the possession. we don’t know what animals voldemort used, he could’ve used deer or mice if he was trying to move fast, or if he just wanted to keep going, he’d just keep jumping to the next living animal. so say after philospher’s stone, when dumbledore shows up and he flees, he might possess one of the centaurs in the forest, or even a unicorn if they were capable of holding such a tainted spirit, use them to move around. it could be that when dumbledore showed up, he immediately went and possessed the nearest cockroach, scuttled off and possessed a spider, scuttled off and possessed a centaur, etc.

it could also be that he retained enough strength to fly unsupported, and simply used that to flee as fast as possible. we see lily fly for a short span in the prince’s tale, so if a nine-year old untrained witch can do a little flight from the swings to the bushes, we can probably presume that unsupported flight isn’t that strenuous of an ability, so voldemort could use his feeble strength just to fly half the time, when he couldn’t find animals.

unsupported flight and taking possession of animals seem to be the top two theories!

i was being facetious when i said portkey but actually now i kind of like the idea. like there’s an old, rusty can that got kicked aside after the 86’ Quidditch World Cup or something.
