I’ve been thinking about how the end of AHKJ reveals that it’s a prequel to the Madagascar movies and that got me wondering: does it really need to be? Why is this show even connected to the movies at all?
The way I see things, this show deserves to be its own universe just like what Penguins of Madagascar did.
I absolutely love Julien’s faith in the Sky Gods in AHKJ; seriously, I feel like that aspect of his personality never receives as much attention as it deserves!
Seriously, one look at episodes like King Me, Are You There, Frank? It’s Me, King Julien and Dance, Dance Resolution say that this is a lemur who loves his faith and is proud of it!
We really need more positive representations of faith like this!
This is something I’ve had on my mind for quite some time and I thought it’d be fun to share, because as we all know, AHKJ deserves way more representation than it actually got. So there are some ideas for potential video games this series could have that I’ve thought of!
- All Hail King Julien: Jungle Adventure (This is the one I’ve thought about the most, so keep that in mind as we jump into this) I’ve always imagined this one to be an exploration/platforming adventure with some puzzle elements. I’ve also thought about what the story mode would look like: In an effort to improve teamwork in the kingdom, Julien organises an expedition into the deeper areas of the jungle with the lemurs splitting into teams to do so. (Julien has Maurice as his partner because of course he does; these two are great!) The cutscenes could have the same or similar animation quality to that of the show with all the voice actors reprising their respective roles. Each team of two will have their own story, which the player can freely choose when they please and while this is freely playable in single player, co-op is mainly encouraged.
- An RPG based on Clover’s stories
- A tactical war game based on the board we see in the Butterfly War and other episodes
- An MMO where you can create your own character and explore the various areas of Madagascar
These are just a few ideas I have, so feel free to let me know what other ideas you think would be great!

I just realized the plane in madagascar 2 was literally his whole Castle/Throne room that was sent to Africa…I wonder if his family/friends will be upset about that or worried…
Even if Julien returned to Madagascar…where would he live, his literal house is in pieces in Africa…
How do you think King Julien’s people would react to living in the Zoo with their king and the penguins? I feel like several of the side/main characters would love it while the others would be panicking…
Morticus Khan said he broke the feet’s hold on him years ago and since all Morts have known of the feet then there’s a big implication that them knowing Julien is also a universal constant. Since Morts are obsessed with his feet, in order to break the hold something drastic would have had to happen between the Mort in question and Julien.
Morticus seems… Angry at Julien. And bitter. And yet the helmet on his head is reminiscent of feet and so is his throne, almost like a reminder of what he broke out of.
Or maybe he was never attached to them at all?
Enter Grandpa Mort.
Even as a grandfather a Mort is still a Mort and he’s no different. But this Mort is so much more similar to Morticus than to our Mort, at least in power.
Our Mort has only willingly absorbed one other Mort in the show, and that was after Khan initiated it. To be fair to our Mort, he had no idea he could do any of that until like… Three hours ago but nevertheless, Khan is the one who began the absorption before our Mort took over.
Grandpa Mort began and completed the absorption of Mort before he broke out of it and not only that, but grandpa Mort has said he’s old enough to have been imprisoned by King Julien the 4th.
Grandpa Mort is resentful towards Julien, angry at him and bitter enough to want to kill him. Kind of like Morticus, right?
What if Morticus Khan is more of Grandpa Mort from a different universe, instead of our Mort, and this imprisonment drove him to get an army of Morts and defeat their universe’s Juliens to gain their loyalty?
