Quizá junto con Sasquatch, Puck sea el personaje carismático por excelencia de los Alpha Flight. Para los que estéis mas familiarizados con el UCM que con los cómics, bien podríais imaginarlos como los Rocket y Groot canadienses.

Eugene Judd se labró una carrera como merecenario y espía que le llevó a tener que recuperar para un contrabandista un artefacto conocido como la Espada Negra de Bagdad. Al hacerse con ella, Eugene liberó al espíritu de un hechicero persa conocido como Black Razer. Para contenerlo, el soldado utilizó la Espada canalizando su propia energía vital y lo atrapó dentro de sí mismo, lo que hizo disminuir su estatura a la mitad y sufrir molestias y dolores constantes. Por contra, conservaba todas sus habilidades en lucha cuerpo a cuerpo, y las células de su cuerpo se reacondicionaron para tener unas características similares al caucho.
El soldado fue reclutado por Alpha Flight, donde adoptó el pseudónimo de Puck, después de haber participado en la Guerra Civil Española contra el bando franquista, donde conoció y confraternizó con Ernest Hemingway y se volvió un experto en tauromaquia.
