American Ninja Warrior is THE most inspirational, thrilling, ridiculous, you-go-girl reality show on TV. SERIOUSLY. Watch senior editor Briony Smith—usually a total TV snob—detail why she is actually a die-hard American Ninja Warrior fan…and why you should start watching this show immediately. V. hot dudes! Badass female athletes performing amazing feats of strength! Ridiculous tear-inducing back stories! Mad fitspo! Cheering on normals triumphing over seemingly impossible obstacles! It’s all v. v. chic. Catch the new season on CTV Monday nights.

He’s so cool

You might know him as dashing Prince Liam on The Royals, or as Peter Pevensie in the Narnia movies, but did you know actor William Moseley once competed on American Ninja Warrior?

Moseley tackled “the world’s most difficult obstacle course” in 2012 - and revealed to Digital Spy just how the whole thing came about.

“I went to watch some friends compete - they were these Parkour guys who I worked with on a small film and I went to support them,” he explained. “I saw other people doing it and I thought, ‘Maybe I could have a crack at that’.

"It was one of those really lucky moments - sometimes you get recognised and it’s terrible, but sometimes you get recognised and it’s amazing. The producers recognised me - 'Are you that guy from Narnia?’ - so they managed to get me in and put it on television.”

Moseley made an impressive attempt at the first stage - but was ultimately undone by the deceptively difficult Devil Steps.

“You actually feel completely knackered by the time you get to those Devil Steps,” he said. “I should’ve done better - it always pisses me off when I watch that video. I might be able to do better now - who knows?”

Perhaps now that Ninja Warrior has come to the UK, Moseley could have a go at redeeming himself on ITV’s series?

“I would definitely give that a go - I’m always up for a challenge!”

The Royals: Season 1 is available on Digital HD from May 28 and on DVD from July 6.
