If you’re curious as to what I HAVE done on this list: Skipped school, fired a gun, been swimming in the ocean, dyed my hair, watched Star Wars, ridden a horse, sung karaoke, been on a train, eaten food that fell on the floor, and met someone famous.
There’s a new wip I’m working on and here’s a bit of it:
SIMON
The music starts around nine or so. An obnoxious whine pierces through the ceiling, growing louder and higher pitched until the beat finally drops, shaking the whole flat.
“Christ almighty, EDM? On a Wednesday?” Baz directs his question towards the heavens, and I pause to admire the way his neck stretches as he gazes upwards. We’re in the kitchen, pressed side by side, me washing dishes and Baz drying as directed by the flat’s chore calendar. Through a series of bribes, favors, and whiteboard editing trickery I’ve ensured we are always paired up for cleaning tasks. Because apparently rooming with my crush isn’t enough for me, I have to manufacture new and achingly domestic ways for us to spend time with each other.

You wake up one day with the ability to freeze time at will for as long as you want with no repercussions. What’s the first thing you do with your newfound powers?
ok so the suitor squad (1) proposed on the same day to the same woman and (2) are literally best friends who almost certainly have known each other longer than any of them have known lucy. this leaves us with a few possibilities:
the fact that they all proposed on the same day was completely by coincidence. funny in terms of them all reaching the same conclusion that may 25 was The Day, but otherwise kind of a boring option. also very unrealistic. next please
they all decided to just Wing It on the same day. all’s fair in love and war. whoever got there first and got a yes was going to marry lucy. good luck boys. let the hunger games begin
they planned this VERY deliberately. they knew jack would go first, then quincey, then arthur, assuming she didn’t say yes to a proposal before all three men had a chance to propose. this option implies that they themselves, The Boyfriends, knew that jack had the least chance of success and arthur had the most likely positive outcome. (which is the correct assessment, but also…. sorry jack.) also implies that both jack and quincey had to send a message to the group chat along the lines of “no dice. good luck art let’s go buddy”
my personal favorite: they did not realize that all three of them were courting the same woman, and in Bro Solidarity decided to propose on the same day to their three individual girlfriends. unfortunately there was only one collective girlfriend. c'est la vie
what they don’t tell you about being an artist is that sometimes you will sit down and suddenly know how to draw something that youve never gotten right before
