Taika Waititi is an incredible actor/director whom I adore, and I’m sure he had a hand in parts of OFMD as both one of the executive producers and in whatever bits of improv he brought to the role of Blackbeard, but I feel like his name recognition is overshadowing the actual creator, showrunner, and writer a bit.
David Jenkins is the one who said ‘I’m gonna make these funky little pirates gay and in love’ and I think that’s really neat of him.
