If I see anyone complaining that Annabeth isn’t blonde

Honestly it would be the best fucking thing if they did make her blonde, like what? You kept complaining the last Annabeth was a brunette, now you have blonde Annabeth. Unless the issues isn’t really the hair, and you actually just wanted to bitch

THIS.

Even if they don’t make her blonde, that’s fine. A character is so much more than their looks. Reducing Annabeth to her hair or skin color is honestly just an insult to her character and everything she experiences.

If you argue that characters you love and appreciate are so much more than than words on a page, then you should also recognize they are more than their physical descriptions too.

You will always have your blonde Annabeth in the text if she’s who you feel most represented by. If you want to see her that way, you can always reread the books and avoid the new adaptations.

I’m choosing to think of the Disney adaptation as a new interpretation on the story we love with the characters we’ve grown up with.

Forced diversity?? Sure, maybe, but I have no issue with it. As long as they stick to the story and the characters personalities and dynamics play out well, I couldn’t care less about what they look like.

Losing some physical details for age-appropriate casting, talented actors, and direct author involvement?? Worth it. 100% worth it.
