Im not mentally prepared enough for the inevitable future of anime onlys watching MVA and saying “Woah this was so good, i wish more of the season was dedicated to this arc”
Is anyone else finding this season a little….. idk… off? like the Joint Training arc was never the best in the manga, so i wasnt going into the anime thinking it would magically go from a 5 to a 10… but i was hoping for at least a 6 (fighting does normally work better when u can see the characters moving lol), instead we got an already dull arc stretched out with 5 mins with of flashback per episode, then we get the bonkers move of switching MVA with the EA arc, which was a choice i was willing to accept if they pulled it off well by maybe doing a mystery angle of “heres this new mysterious threat, we dont know who they are!” then at the end of the EA arc it goes to MVA and we get a big ol’ reveal that it was the LOV all along! but after todays episode they’ve obviously just switched the two arcs around but had to cut out certain key information from EA as to not spoil MVA, like… why not just do the 2 arcs in the right order then…. and in the same amount of episodes you were already planning on using for them? if they’re doing MVA this season.. then why not just put it first?? both arcs are happening this season, so why not put them in the right order??
idk im just not a fan of the creative decisions being made for the anime and i hope maybe at the end of the season i look back and im like “ah okay those 15 disappointing episodes all make sense now!” i also see anime onlys being super confused by the story regarding Hawks and these ‘mysterious’ villains and who everyone is / what they’re doing, confusions im sure they wouldnt have if they’d seen MVA
This isn’t anything new, but I’ve recently gotten into “Konosuba”. As someone who despises the entire isekaigenre (my hate stems from “Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody”, which is a story for another time), I think the reason why I’m digging “Konosuba” is that the show is dedicated to shitting on this trope. The main character’s introduction to the fantasy world is pathetic, everyone in his party is useless, and the plot barely progresses because the team sucks so bad.
And honestly, I love it. It’s like the anime version of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, there’s something so morbidly satisfying about watching these characters suffer and fail in life. And as someone who hates isekai, it’s doubly satisfying for me.
But you know what’s extremely ironic about this show? Because Kazuma gets shit on for 90% of the show, he’s actually forced to develop as a character since nothing goes his way. Hardships can really shape a character, so even though the point of his character is to mock the typical isekai protagonist, I feel like he has more personality and depth than other protagonists in this genre.
Also, I’m watching it in both sub and dub. From personal experience, a sign that the show is great is when both the sub and dub are equally entertaining. The Konosuba dub is definitely up there in greatness, right next to “Kaguya-Sama” and “My Dress-Up Darling”.
Anyways, good show, I’ll give it 10/10 useless water gods.

I could barely find any good refferences of Kazuichi as a remnant of despair that isn’t fanmade. I liked the black suit more but a gif of him seems like he is wearing the yellow jumper. ~w~’ I’m assuming the giant wrench is a fan idea as I cannot find a refference of it myself unless I missed it. 9-9’? It is still a nice weapon to give Kazuichi so I’m cool with it ^-^
