Drawing I created inspired by Attack on titan Junior high! It’s was fun dressing Christa and Annie as cheerleaders ❤

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNIE LEONHART Hopefully someday you will rise from the crystal that you’re locked and lost inside for so long…

Been thinking about this..

Imagine hiking with your friend. Just one friend. You’re in the woods, walking, laughing, on your way to the campsite, when you didn’t notice that you accidentally walked into somekind of portal to the AOT verse. You didn’t notice it at first, but then you noticed the trees were taller and the whole environment seemed to have shifted. You tell your friend and he/she noticed it too. Both of you look back to maybe go back a few steps. Maybe you accidentally went off track without noticing. But as soon as you turn back, there’s a titan suddenly running towards you. It didn’t register at first. It seemed surreal. But as it got closer, it finally clicked and both of you sprinted like you never did before.

Thoughts ran through your heads. (To sum it all up, basically it’s “WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.”) But you didn’t stop running because it’s run or be eaten. Unfortunately one of you stumbled and fall on the ground. Of course the other have to stop and help the other. But the titan was getting closer and closer, and at that point, you just accepted what is to come because it’s not like you could do anything. (But really at the back of your mind, you still think it isn’t real.)

The titan was about to pound on both of you when the Survey Corps suddenly came and slayed the titan. You and your friend were both in shock that when they approached you, you couldn’t move or say anything.

What do you do next?

I think this would be an interesting thread. I’d like to know what you guys think. Maybe in the comments, maybe in the reblogs. Write a fanfic if you will, and please tag me because I would love to read it.

Here’s my version, my friend, (who’s gay but his pronouns are he/him), he would come up with some kind of tragic back story for us. Who we are, why are we outside the safe zone, etc. Then I would try to convince them to let us join the Survey Corps. Haha!

I find it funny because I can imagine us training or maybe doing chores, then suddenly breaking into songs because we love music, and we love musicals. Haha! Also, we would probably debate on whether if we should change what’s going to happen because we obviously know, but at the same time we also don’t want to mess up the timeline.

I wanna know what you guy’s versions are.

I love how the Japanese snk fandom is also going wild on Twitter for the interactions between Annie and Pieck

pieck/annie, things that weigh on your mind. T rating.

they’re laying side by side, faces turned towards each other, with half-worn bedsheets bunched up around their bodies, the night an overhanging veil of gloom. they’ve been here before, many times, always the ritual of annie slipping into pieck’s bed at night when she can’t sleep. she says as much every time she walks in when the moon has dwindled to a fleeing silver, gives the same explanation: it’s too hard to sleep in my room. the real reason, which pieck begins discerning soon after the first ten times it happens, is: i’m frightened, and i can’t stand to be alone with my thoughts. she sees it in the trembling palms of her ambivalent hands, the way her fingers dig into the side of her long sleeves, the penitential gloom annie always falls into. each time, pieck simply nods and lays there in the dark, peering at her through diaphanous eyelashes, and lets her warmth and breathing lull her into a better escape. she never probes, simply gives her a safe space away from prying questions.

tonight annie looks different. she usually feels a hundred times older, her world-weariness cavitating itself into her shoulders. but now she peers at pieck with so much blue in her eyes, such a far cry from her usual dreamless stare, that she looks for a moment like the world’s most young and vulnerable girl. as pieck brushes a stray strand of hair behind annie’s ears, she feels a question working its way into the shape of annie’s voice.

do you think people like us can ever be forgiven? annie asks, her voice coming out choked and ensnared in the stale midnight air.

pieck’s face is calm, but she feels a vise settling itself into her throat as she replies. she’s thought too often about the same thing. she lets a hard truth fall from her lips. it’s alright if we can’t, annie. nobody leaves this world with their hands clean.

and annie, understanding that this is the only lifeline available to monsters like her— a necessary one if she wants to avoid tormenting herself to madness— curls her fingers around pieck’s soft hands.

Shelter from the Rain Vol. 10 Ymir & Annie Leonhart

As if hand-to-hand combat training wasn’t draining enough, a troublesome drizzle began to come from the sky. Ymir sighed.

She showed up for long enough to be counted at roll call, then sneaked away toward a nearby storehouse when her instructor wasn’t looking. The rain drizzled on her the whole way there, and she was completely wet by the time she made it under the roof.

“Ugh… Do they really expect me to put up with this?”

“You said it.”

Ymir turned to face this surprising reply as she wiped the water off her body. There stood a small girl looking at Ymir with her arms crossed.

“…So you were here, Annie?”

******

“Heh… You sure about this?”

“About what?”

Annie’s cool expression didn’t change, despite Ymir’s teasing.

“I’m asking if little Miss Honor Student, who’s definitely on track to be in the top ten, should really be skipping training in a place like this.”

“Hand-to-hand combat doesn’t factor into our marks. There’s no way I can act stupid enough to want to put work into training in the rain,” Annie casually said, looking at the recruits as they trained. “People take the path of least resistance.”

The majority of the others weren’t putting themselves into this Training that wouldn’t reflect on them later. While none of them were skipping outright like Ymir and Annie, there were mentally doing something similar.

“Sure you don’t need to go up against that hot-blooded goof? He was really interested in your martial arts, wasn’t he?” Ymir said, pointing to Eren. He was one of the few other recruits putting everything he had into even this training, and he was trying to tackle Mikasa.

“He’s busy right now focusing on trying to do something about the one recruit he can’t beat. I don’t have a clue what’s so fun about that, though.”

“Heh… Weren’t you the one who taught him that move?”

“I trained with him because he wouldn’t leave me alone, that’s all.”

The recruits continued to train in hand-to-hand combat as their body grew colder in the drizzling rain.

“…Like I said. You won’t be able to put any power into it like that.” Eren’s flexible partner sent him flying straight into the ground with one of her throws, and Annie couldn’t help but say the words, dismayed.

“What’s that? Worried about your disciple?”

“…Not really. Just a little annoyed.”

“You don’t sound annoyed to me.”

“…”

But Annie’s silent intimidation didn’t work on Ymir.

“See, look. He’s not giving up.”

“You don’t need to comment on every little thing that happens.”

Ymir began to grin when she saw Annie turn to look the other way.

“You know… You’re bad at acting cold.”

“Hunh?!”

“I can tell by your eyes.”

Ymir smirked in Annie’s face.

******

“It’s not just Eren. There’s kindness in your eyes no matter who you’re looking at, whether they’re slacking or taking it seriously.”

“What's…that suppose to mean? You’re not even making sense.”

“That’s fine, you don’t need to understand,” Ymir said, patting Annie’s shoulders as she put away the secret sealed inside her. “Whether they’re stupidly overbearing…or so weak they’ll let anyone push them around…you must see every single one of them as human, don’t you?”

“Human, huh…”

Annie looked at the ceiling, paying no mind to the rain that blew down onto her face. It was as if there was something more for her to think about in those words.

“Whoa, crap. The instructor’s about to come around.”

“…Yeah, all right.”

The two girls silently left the storehouse and slipped back into the group with the rest of their peers. The gentle rain showed no signs of stopping as it poured on all of the recruits alike, whether strong or weak.

Good Night, Dear and Sweet Dreams (Goodnight. Sweet dreams, dear)

It was once said the dreams are a mirror of one’s heart. Perhaps dreams are a respite that allow one to forget their cruel and brutal day, or they might be an abyss even harsher than reality… What will tonight’s rest bring?

Good Night, Dear and Sweet Dreams Vol. 07 Annie Leonhart

New soldiers, even ones in the Military Police, have a lot to do. That said, they still have more free time than in the Training Corps, so Annie’s peer seemed to occasionally go out to town and enjoy themselves, shopping and so on.

“Take a look, Annie. This skirt was on sale for fifty percent off!”

“…Hm.”

Annie met every piece of clothing that her roommate Hitch showed her with the same uninterested glance as she rolled about on her bed.

“You should come with me some time for a change. You’re not social at all, Annie.”

“…Leave me alone.”

******

Annie’s new post was in Stohess District, a town that protruded from the Wall and had a door allowing passage through it. These kinds of towns–such as Trost District and, of course, Shiganshina District in previous days–were full of people due to the Royal Government’s actions, making them also centers of distribution.

“Hm…?”

“C'mon, don’t you think this one would be perfect for me, Annie?”

Annie suddenly found herself in the center of its main street. Nearby, Hitch pointed at a show window. An aristocratic dress was on display in the shop.

“I can’t buy that dress…not on the kind of salary we get.”

“I know that! I was just saying,” Hitch said, letting out a trademark cackle. “Anyway, we’re soldiers. We don’t have any chance to wear clothes like that.”

“We’re soldiers, sure, but you know we’re MPs, right? What if one day we end up acting as guards for nobles, and there a handsome young aristocrat falls in love with one of us while we’re on duty… Something like that!”

“You dream too much.”

By Annie’s standards, she was being talkative.

Had she and Hitch…no, had she and any of her fellow recruits in the Training Corps ever joked back and forth like this?

The scene began to faintly blur.

******

“Oh, Annie!”

Someone began waving her hand and running toward Annie from the other side of the hazy scene.

“…Krista?”

It was the girl who was kind to everyone, someone who was always considerate, even to someone as unsociable as Annie.

“You’re going shopping? What a wonderful store.”

“Why–”

Why are you here? She wanted to ask, but her question was drowned out by the procession of figures who came to take to her.

“So you’re finally interested in dressing up, Annie?”

“Ooh, there’s a cart selling meat over there!”

Those she knew from the Training Corps walked through town, cheerful and excited. The scene was an impossible one, but it also reminded Annie of something.

“You're…all here.”

While only a few words came out of Annie’s mouth, they were filled with kindness.

“The boys are here, too. I think Reiner and Bertolt are on that street over there,” Ymir’s indistinct voice said, pointed in a different direction.

“Reiner and Bertolt…”

Annie’s spine froze in shock at the two names.

…That’s right. I'm…

Soon the cold was everywhere, and Annie held herself in her own arms, shivering.

I don’t have any right to smile.

As Annie’s senses grew colder, her happy Corpsmates began to disappear like fog.

“I’m sorry… I’m sorry!”

******

“You sleep every night with such a scary look on your face. How do you do it?”

When Annie opened her eyes, Hitch was there, peeking at her bed with an astonished expression.

“…Is it morning?”

Hitch nodded, then stepped away from the bed to stretch as she put on her jacket.

“Yep. You’d better hurry up and change, or else we’ll be late.”

“…I know.”

The emotions in her voice was restrained, unlike in her dream. Annie felt relieved to hear the voice coming from her mouth.

I…can’t be the person I was in that dream. Not ever, no matter what happens…

Annie gulped down hard as something began to well up inside of her. She crawled out of bed. The sun seemed unusually bright.

Late Night Stories Vol. 08 Annie Leonhart : A Story of Days Past

“You know… I’ve always wondered.”

A Military Police Brigade station in Stohess District.

Work was officially over for the day, and so the lights in most of the rooms were off. However, brightness continued to leak out from one room. In it were this year’s new recruits, taking care of the office work that had been forced onto them by their superiors.

“What is it, Marlowe? Who are you talking to?”

“Annie. I always wanted to ask.”

The blonde girl who coolly worked her way through the documents, mechanically flipping through them and stamping them, looked up with a furrowed brow.

••••••

“You trained in Trost District and experienced actual combat right afterwards, right? The others who made it into the top ten would have experienced the terror of the Titans first-hand, too… It wouldn’t be surprising at all if they’d wanted to become MPs and live in the interior. So why were you the only one who joined the Military Police Brigade? They didn’t all die in that battle, did they?”

“…Only one died. The rest joined the Survey Corps.”

“The Survey Corps?! Not even the Garrison?! Why?”

Annie didn’t so much as flinch as Hitch overreacted and confronted her with the question.

“…Who knows.”

The dismissively reply made Hitch stars at Annie’s face and changed the question.

“In that case, what kind of people were your corpsmates? Huge idiots?”

“Yeah… I guess they were idiots.”

••••••

Annie’s hands never stopped sorting through the paperwork as she answered the badgering with a few words about the other members of the 104th.

“First…was an idiot obsessed with family. Her childhood friend wanted to join the Survey Corps…and she said she’d protect him. That friend of hers was fifth, right after me, but he said he was going to join the Survey Corps from the beginning… He was the weirdest one.”

“Do weirdos like that really exist in this day and age?”

“The rest of them…were probably influenced by what that idiot said. He actually declared in front of everyone the night before graduation that he’d exterminate all the Titans so that we could explore the world freely.”

“Hah. It’s not quite the same reasoning, but he sounds like Marlowe.”

“I think it’s natural for anyone to follow their ideals. Without dreams or goals, humans are just…”

Marlowe stopped working to try to give his personal opinions about the world, but Hitch cut him off and asked Annie to continue.

“Yeah, yeah. So what about the others? It’s not like everyone was influenced by this idiot, right?”

“There was one guy who said he was going to become an MP even after the battle, so…I might have been a little surprised by him.”

••••••

“He…lost his good friend… His marks were good up until then, but he was the kind of person who always bragged about them. He only ever thought of himself…but then he changed.”

“Was it something about his state of mind?” Marlowe asked, but Annie expressionlessly shook her head.

“Who knows. Like I said earlier… I’m not them. I’m not some stupid dreamer, and it’s not like I have ideals, either. I don’t have anything I want to protect… I’m a coward who just wants to save herself.”

“That goes for everyone who became an MP, though. Are you someone who gets self-conscious about what others think of you?”

“No, that’s not it. I…” Annie began, her hands stopping suddenly in the middle of organizing the pile of now-completed documents and latching them together.

“…I’m heading to bed.”

“Hey! No fair, Annie! You need to help us with the rest…! C’mon.”

Hitch’s attempts to get her to stay were in vain. Just as Annie was about to close the door, she stopped.

“I just…make whatever choice seems easiest.”

As Annie looked to the floor, she thought of her training corpsmates. She bit her tongue as if to brush the memories away and headed to the sleeping quarters.

Some Stories of Determination

Three Viewpoints Selected Cases

The Case of the Corps Tea Party - File No. 08 Annie’s Side (2/3)

“…And so some of the tea shipment distributed the other day included some that was absolutely unfit for consumption. Today I need you to collect all of the tea sent to the military and give out new tea in its place. That is all.”

The Military Police Brigade officer’s words sounded even more stern than usual. That still didn’t mean that he would rethink his tendency of handling off all his work to the recruits, though. He simply ordered them to get results fast before returning to his room.

“That’s weird. The food supplies we give to the Survey Corps and Garrison are always second-rate. Why would we go this far over some bad tea?”

“While Tea might be a luxury, it’s still something you put in your body. Someone would need to take the blame if anyone’s health was affected.”

Among her fellow recruits, Annie stood alone, wondering how she would get out of this annoying Mission.

…This is stupid.

******

The recruits began to disperse, and Annie casually turned around as she stood behind them all. In what must have been their haste, the door to the officers’ quarters was cracked open.

…None of them are drinking today?

Annie noticed that the scene she glimpsed inside was different from the usual one. She split off from the others and listened in from the shadows.

“…So do you think we’ll be able to find it?”

“There are only so many places it could have been distributed, so it’s just a matter of time. What’s annoying, though, is that some of it has already been sent off to the Survey Corps.”

They were talking about the “unfit for consumption” tea. The officers seemed to be uncharacteristically frantic in their search for it, and MPs belonging to ranks so high that Annie had never seen them working before streamed in and out of the room.

The Survey Corps…

“This is Erwin we’re dealing with here. If he finds it, he might even try to use it against us some day…”

Some of Annie’s friends would be in the Survey Corps. Not only that, this tea seemed to be such a big deal that it had the potential to turn into a major scandal that could be used against the Military Police Brigade.

It’s just some tea. Why would they be this obsessed with it? I think…it might a good idea to look into this.

Her past experiences told her that if she had a little more information, she might be able to use it as insurance if worst came worst. Annie pretended to go back to work before heading toward the records room.

******

…The day the tea we’re supposed to recover was sent out, the brass was scheduled to meet with important Wallists. But…the plans were canceled right after the shipment.

Fortunately, the Military Police had plenty of time to create documents. They kept reasonably detailed records of plans and shipments going in and out.

These are yesterday’s records of donations from the aristocracy… They gave money, as well as…precious metals?

“Hey, Annie. What do you think you can get done looking at records like that? Are you sleeping with your eyes open or something?”

“…Yeah, maybe.”

“God, you’re boring!”

Annie parried another MP’s snide remarks before looking at more records.

And the records of where these metals were kept…don’t exist? They were taken somewhere before they even had a chance to go into storage…

Annie understood where that “somewhere” was.

“…I get it now,” she muttered so that no one else could hear, slowly shutting the records. She was done with the case now…and decided to skip as much work as she could.

******

“Make any progress, Annie? It seemed like you were looking into some sort of records the whole time,” a serious recruit asked Annie, his hopes high. She had no intention of telling him the truth, though.

…I can’t have any attention on me. I’ll just ignore this.

“…Not really.”

“Like I said, she was slacking and just pretending to work. You’re the only one who took this seriously, Marlowe.”

The attention was taken off of Annie thanks to another recruit who was napping alongside Annie in the records room. She couldn’t help but let one thing slip out when she saw his ever-fierce attitude.

“What the officers are looking for…has probably been taken far, far away already. It’s up to the MPs there now…”

“That doesn’t make it alright for us to slack off, though! Sheesh…”

Still, the words didn’t seem to be enough to make him take notice of anything. He was either a true idiot, or maybe what you’d call an honorable man. Annie knew people like that existed.

If the shipment was sent to the Survey Corps…I don’t need to be the one acting like some kind of righteous hero.

Annie also thought the right kind of person to expose this corruption would be just that kind of person.
