Julie Plec has casted a bunch of black and POC actors and actresses for the Vampire Academy show and I don’t trust her one bit to do right by them. I just feel for the black and POC fans who might get drawn in due to the cast, without being aware that Julie Plec is in charge of the writing and producing.

Imagine the discomfort and awkward position, Kat would have been placed in as a black woman on the TVD season 8 Binge podcast, having to sit there and listen to Julie Plec explain how she choose a plantation to shoot Enzo’s death scene on.

Makes me even gladder that Kat choose to forgo any of the podcast TVD binge sit downs with Julie Plec. Especially season 8. As Julie Plec seems like the type of white woman who finds filming on or getting married on plantations to be romantic or a entertaining thing to do.

Also notice how Julie Plec has used these recent recap interviews to discuss aspects of what the TVD fandom requested or talked about during TVD’s time on the air. Mainly has discussed the fandom wanting certain ships together, in what now she considers to be “toxic shipping.” In which she suddenly acts like she is concerned about or disagrees with “toxic ships.”

Yet one thing she still has yet to bring up, mention or address, since TVD has been over with. Is her racist and poor treatment towards Bonnie/Kat Graham. Even with fans having constantly pointed out her racist treatment and writing towards Bonnie/Kat Graham during TVD’s time on the air. And even with fans still calling her out years after TVD has been overwith.

She won’t mention it or address it, because she knows it will go against her being performative, in pretending like she cares about Black Lives Matter or social racial justice issues. And she knows it will breach her comfort levels, having to face the reality that she is racist and treated the black actress on the show in very poor manner.

She is still selective in which TVD fandom subjects she is willing to talk about, support or address. Just like how she commented on a tweet that compared TVD with True Blood and how the two shows have common themes or plots happening. But, then ignored the part of the tweet, that criticized how both Tara and Bonnie were treated awfully on the two shows as black women characters.

So she can at least be honest, since she isn’t fooling anyone. Bonnie being “too good” for Damon, isn’t actually the reason why Plec didn’t do Bamon. People don’t even have to ship or support Bamon, to know that she refused to write the ship, due to internal resentment of the thought of a black woman character, with one of her most popular white male characters and her paranoia over a black woman character outclassing her cherished white ship.

And there still isn’t an interviewer who is willing to ask her about her racist and poor treatment towards Bonnie.

Julie Plec rather insult Elena’s character, than to own up to her racist treatment towards Bonnie. Also it’s 2021 and there are still TVD Stans out there who are either defending or downplaying Julie Plec’s racist treatment of Bonnie. Along with her hypocritical writing. Because she will attempt to justify her writing in why she forbids and limits Bonnie from doing certain things. Yet will turn around and have other characters do the same things she forbids Bonnie to do in her writing.

She should just be truthful and say that she didn’t want the black woman to outshine and outclass her most cherished and prized white ship.

Even when it comes to making a certain Bonnie ship canon, she is fine with pushing and promoting that, because she doesn’t view that ship as a threat to her most cherished ship. Because the same logic she applies to not doing Bamon, could have applied to the Bonnie ship she made canon in Season 7 and 8.

There are fans still defending Julie Plec’s rhetoric in her justifying her racist and hypocritical writing. And those who will still doubt that Kat was treated poorly on the show by Plec and Dries. Even with the recent videos out which highlights how awful they were towards her and her time on the show.

I can’t believe Julie gave DE the human endgame Stelena was supposed to have and made Stelena’s last and only scene about SC. And Tyler didn’t even get to have a line or see Caroline one last time. Actually I can believe it, I just hate that she did it.

The ending of tvd left such a terrible taste in my mouth, especially Bonnie’s ending. Funny how Elena and Caroline had family they could turn to and go home to meanwhile the only person Bonnie had was the mother who didn’t want her. It was cruel for the writers to kill Enzo, it was just another way for them to reinforce that Bonnie was completely alone. But to send her to Africa??! When she should no interest of traveling their in the entirety of the show?? I don’t even think they mentioned Africa in the show once. It was very racial coded and I mean what do we expect from a bunch of white women. Anyways if I could rewrite Bonnie’s ending I would say she would definitely start a healing journey. It would start by her selling her father’s house. (Not Grams’ that’s definitely a safe place for her) And she would relocate to another state. Maybe get in touch with lucy or find a group of witches because she’s never really had any witches around her.

What would be the ending you would give to Bonnie if you could?

The end of the tvd universe!!!!!!! So glad this day came. Bonnie Bennett still holds some much space in my heart and even though we didn’t get to see her full potential because of racist writers being scared of 16 year olds she’ll always be one of my favorite characters. Even with so little content the Bonnie fans were able to create so much from fanfics of our favorite crackships to art to moodboards and so much more!
