TheAppalachian Wildlife Refuge is a nonprofit that coordinates wildlife rehabilitation efforts in Western North Carolina by providing care for injured and orphaned wildlife,supporting the wildlife rehabilitation network, and offering conservation education to the community!
There are multiple ways you can support these guys continue to do their amazing work:
- They have a wishlist of needed items and where they can be sent here
- Here’s how you can symbolically adopt an animal (white-tailed fawns, river otters, american toads, american beavers, eastern screech owls, eastern chipmunks, easter cottontail rabbits, eastern gray squirrels and red foxes)
- They need people to sew pouches for opossums and flying squirrels! Instructions and details are here.
