An apple cobbler, but I used the Blue Willow plates so it’s now an apple cobbler on the Franklin expedition.

This is not a traditional recipe like my usual cooking projects; just a regular ole Internet Recipe (this one, specifically), complete with unnecessarily verbose introduction and link to an apple peeler you can buy.

It produced a sort of cake layer over a liquid layer of apples and sauce, reminding me of Tory Pudding with Liberal Sauce although thankfully, it was not revoltingly sweet (that brown sugar goop with Tory Pudding is like instant diabeetus). It also served the purpose of burning up a bag of Granny Smith apples that I bought for a historical recipe I still want to try: Charles Benson’s apple fritters (or, the recipe that he saved, not in his own hand).

Charles Benson’s apple fritters called for no sugar at all, as I recall, and now I can’t find the recipe for the life of me (@benjhawkinshelp?)
