Yes, when I wrote this comic, I was aware that in the US (and European countries, as someone on Insta pointed out), Asians started being referred to as a “minority” in reference to the percent of the population they made up as immigrants.
However, the problem is that in western cultures, we still see Asians outside of our borders as a “minority”. There is a perception of “other” or “diversion from the default” surrounding Asians. This is the point I was trying to make when I wrote that line.
