one of the many (many) reasons I’m going to be super pissed if Steve dies in Endgame is because it’s just going to be…a profoundly depressing end to his arc. Steve has not had anypeace. he’s never had the chance to. from the first time we see him fighting bullies in The First Avenger all the way through, Steve doesn’t get a single minuteof happiness or fulfillment.

he talks in Winter Soldier about not knowing what he wants. he talks in Age of Ultron about never being able to go home. he’s constantly living in a state of crisis to crisis, because he doesn’t know how to stop, because he’s never been able to.

and if after that - after losing to Thanos - he ends up dying? the idea of that being the conclusion of this man’s absolutely devastatinglife where he hasn’t had a moment’s relief to actually live?

that’s just goddamn sad,and it’s a story of futility in a lot of ways, and it’s a tragedy, and tragedy isn’t what I come to superhero movies for.

anyway that’s all I’ve got thanks folks

This.

Not gonna lie: I’m not going the first weekend for sure. I WANT to be spoilered. Because if it goes this way, I’m not going at all.

If he gets a GOOD arc, I’ll go later, but no way in hell am I going in blind and being fucking devastated that this poor man never had a moment’s peace and then just fucking died because they couldn’t be arsed to give him a satisfying ending to his own goddamn character arc.

I feel like there could be a small chance of us seeing this in Endgame.
