I’ll be honest with you: Azula being loyal to her father and her absolute monarch makes a lot of sense. You don’t need some sort of convoluted explantion why she’s loyal to them, and if her actions are consistent with this loyalty, you don’t need to ascribe convoluted motives to them.

Exactly, That’s basically it. Every subject is Drilled since birth to be loyal, now look at Azula who grew up at the core of imperial power and also that Ouai was her father is a huge fact, but speaking for myself I would do everything for my father at that age in such a time period, especially when I think that said father loves me. Azula and other subject don’t know the ideals of democracy or right of the individual, it does not exist.

She’s got much more reason to be loyal to the FN than even the rank and file soldiers, who still went their whole lives serving the Fire Lord unquestioningly.
