recently i’ve gotten some pretty negative remarks or just plain insensitive comments about my writing and it’s killed my motivation to write by a ton.
i know that these people are just giving what they think is criticism– but it’s hard to take when it’s not really.. criticizing anything that i can fix? like they don’t point out particular details that are identifiable which is why it puts my mood down so much. that and most the time, they’re just plainly insulting the ideas i have or such.
i’m not a baby when it comes to criticism– god no!! i’ve grown up writing and drawing my whole life and it’s only possible i’ve gotten this far because of it. i always try to see someone’s criticism from an objective point of view instead of taking it personally.
i sincerely want to improve my writing. i’m not some experienced writer which is why i want feedback to grow as a writer! but i’ve been overwhelmed with things going on in real life and now with writing which is supposed to be my safe space– which is why i’ll be taking a break.
this has been going on for a while and i’ve finally had enough, i’m sorry.
i don’t know how long it’ll last, i can’t really go into detail as to when i’ll be back because even i don’t know. i just need the time and space to think about this and hopefully recover my self esteem on here lol
i’m genuinely hurt and it’ll take me a bit to get back on this platform without feeling anxious that what i’ll write next will get me a mountain stack of hate.
to my followers and people who genuinely like my writing; thank you all so much. i’ll definitely be back soon once i get past this!
it’s visiting weekend at the university! you meet the team’s family and friends and reflect on your own. in the meanwhile, childe does something stupid, idiotic, and insane.
a/n: HIIIII !! i’m here again :D thank you for the patience and welcome back to the series!! i was very excited for this chapter, as it’s much more angsty than the fun fluff of thin ice. this was so self-indulgent, and wanted to expand on the theme of found family. i hope you enjoy it!
fridays were usually busy around campus, but as you tried to get through to the ice arena, you assumed that the population had multiplied by ten. parents and children flooded the walkways. at least a dozen people were wearing the same tu sweatshirt. sighing, you pushed past all of them and entered the arena.
it was quite busy at the rink. the arena hosted a free skate for visitors, and they were taking full use of it. you couldn’t see them, but you heard laughter and music echoed from the ice.
a small smile came on your face. in all the chaos with living away from home for the first time, it must have been lucky to have someone always in your corner. you let out a little sigh at the thought.
