This is literally us, guys. ;)
Like, literally, there is actually 6 of us.

the post that named the fandom

I feel like a proud mother.

Always rebolg the Mother Post

This is it. This is the post that started all of this.

Shoelace law to reblog this whenever it comes up on your dash

But we all follow each other so I see this eighteen times in a row honestly I love you guys but I’m not reblogging this 18 times a day. More realistic expectations needed.

Booklover you’re as bad as Connie, overworking your staff

If I could post a reaction gif right now (but I can’t because mobile Tumblr hates us) it would be that picture of Connie with Zoe and shes got a face like “Bitch please, don’t tell me what to do”

Apart from the fact that the word Dylan doesn’t appear anywhere, the next episode (on the 19th) looks amazing. Particularly for Bea’s story and for Sam’s. I’m so pleased her story isn’t just Jacob but revolves around this tough decision with its big consequences. (That has GOT to be the controversial story, hasn’t it?)

I wonder who/what will persuade Bea to persevere?

What the hell is ‘feist’ though? I looked it up and the definition is no help:

Nope. Can’t see what they’re getting at

lol I totally forgot to mention this

someone from my agency is actually in the next episode and I know some details about the water stunt - IT IS PRETTY COOL AND VERY BIG

OMG Are you in a position to reveal anything? I don’t want to lead you astray so don’t say anything that’ll cause you trouble. Who do you know? Not the woman in the car!?

tbh I haven’t been told not to reveal anything but I’ll be careful anyway. I don’t know the whole story but I know where it was shot and essentially what happens. the person from my agency is a guest from that episode and is involved in the stunt. apparently it was absolutely exhausting to film and there was a lot of concern with people getting cold. I won’t say any more but it is very intense and very big

One thing to say:  Conniiiieeeeee!!!!  So happy she’s back, and rocking a fantastic new haircut.  Also, massive kudos to wardrobe/styling, because she looked so incredibly fragile and beautiful - and I’d like to think it’s not because she starved herself during her hiatus (irl, I mean - I appreciate the character went through chemo).  Absolutely fabulous.

I do have to say, however, I am not on board with her opening a trauma centre in the ED.  I’m still deeply bitter about the failure of AAU’s trauma facilities - through no fault of Bernie’s, and for the ED to open a centre now is just flipping the bird to AAU - and that’s just not on!

Brilliant COTW in the ex army father with mental health issues, and his frankly brainwashed pre-teen daughter.  Very little in these shows make me cringe, but I have to confess to a wince when he hacked his own fingers off with his axe!  I doubt we’ll get any follow up, but this is certainly a storyline which could have more life in it, if they’d choose to let it.

Speaking of ongoing storylines, the rest of the episode was taken up with Ethan/Leigh-Anne/Keegan.  And I’ll say again, just as I always do - as much as I don’t like the story generally, I still think it’s unfolding in a really organic way, and I have to give credit for that.  (Although I’m really not sure Leigh-Anne would have Keegan back quite so quickly after the abandonment?  I know social services are stretched beyond breaking, so perhaps the fact that she made sure he was left safely went in her favour, but still).  I’m still sliding about on the scale of exactly how unhealthy that relationship is - but I’m continuing to put my money on the fact it can only end in tears.  Lots and lots of tears.

Final thought - disappointment at everyone’s desire to party on the anniversary of Cal’s death.  Most especially Alicia, who should know better and have the moral strength to say no.  Hah!  As if…

YOU KNOW WHAT I ALSO BADLY WANT A FOLLOW UP OF CHLOE AND ANDY

how about we all write to the bbc so I can get another job bc I love the cas fam a lot

there was jokey discussion about a follow up where chloe goes to bail andy out of jail actually but I BADLY WANT TO FILM AGAIN

also v glad u enjoyed x

- Connie is back which is perfect.
- I’m sometimes a tough critique but actually enjoyed the filming of this episode and the caravan finger accident was very well done.
- Charlie leaving flowers for Cal?! MAH HERT MAH SOL!
- Really hope Connie doesn’t go down hill like Ethan did. She’s a great character but Ethan used to be too! However brownie points for “Connie Beauchamp trauma theatre”
- Sorry still don’t like Sam! Don’t think I will ever like Sam but let’s see how her new story is meant to unfold? Then I will see how I feel. Iain is still good in my books.
- Ethan is a moron? Agree? Yes you do agree.
- Doctor Rash is slowly growing on me but I’m not fond of Gem especially after she hit Lilly with a BLOODY CAR. Also don’t like the constant recycling of story lines of relationships within ED like please change the record pals.
- “Got a bunker ready for the apocalypse and you’re not invited” Is my new favourite insult.
- Charlie playing ED daddy by telling Connie off for snapping at Ethan is great though. I do love how Charlie is like the ED therapist.
- We all knew that Ethan kiss was going to happen. Ridiculous. Poor writing.

My stars from last night were Connie, less for her heels and her dramatic entrance than for her uncompromising toughness of approach. She is what she is, unlike Ethan, who is not the man who did what he did, a sentence that makes my syntax creak and my mind boggle. But it’s true. Connie is authentic. This Ethan is not. Though to be fair to the writers toiling with the Improbable, his current flaws are less impactful now they’re just personal to him.

And star number 2 is Charlie who rose to the fight with Connie. I didn’t KNOW that Charlie needed an adversary to get the most out of him, but it seems he does. The Connie/Charlie battles might be fun.

Star number 3 is everything to do with that fabulously grotesque accident, the flattened fingers, the axe, the bizarre Monty Python decision to lop them off rather than, I dunno, digging a small pit around his hand to pull his fingers free. But the Chloe story was creepily well told and dodgy as hell. God knows what happened last summer. (Reminds me of a book I read last year where a daughter and father disappear into a remote German forest where abuse, murder, survivalism and a very strange late twist happen on when you least expect it and it changes everything.)

I haven’t warmed to Gem either. My favourite porters are called Big Mac and Glenn, and Gem comes nowhere near.

Other news: massive sulk because no Dylan and no Bea. Next ep will give us a lot of Bea (hurrah!) and I’m clinging to the hope (which is completely unjustified) that Dylan might be the one to find and persuade her to return.

apologies for sort of just arriving on this post but i’m so glad the caravan accident was so well received, a lot of time and effort went into shooting it and the response has been so positive!

okay tumblr, hit me with your questions! i will answer anything and everything you throw at me

also i would v much appreciate gifs of chloe

Thank you. It was a great episode, by the way and I loved Chloe’s story (even though the finger thing was too gruesome). I’ll start.

Would it be too nosy to ask how the actors compared to their characters? Was anyone like their character in real life?

Did the finger thing make you cringe?

How much back story did you have? Obviously we don’t know what really happened the year before but is that an instance where you’d be told what occured so you know how to play it?

From the outside it looked like Chloe was almost brainwashed by her dad. But for you, you have to keep needing him and calling him ‘Sarge’ or ‘Daddy’. Was that hard for you to do in the light of the real risky situation for Chloe?

Well done with the episode! If no one else can do gifs I’ll do a few tomorrow night? LMK what particular scenes you prefer!

Do the BBC send you the episode on a DVD or anything? Is the food in the vending machine out of date?

How long was the …. ghastly orange thing on for?

Do you mean the neck brace? Because if so GOD that was awful. I couldn’t actually move my head at all. All the medical equipment was real so that did a great job of keeping my neck in place. That scene probably took about three hours so it was a NIGHTMARE.

Nope, nothing. I did a CBBC project last year which was better in that I got to watch it before it aired and we had a premiere and stuff. With Cas it’s so tight that I didn’t expect any of that, although it would have been nice!

I can’t speak for the vending machine but in the shop it’s actually all in date, we checked when we were bored lmao

Hello! So glad you enjoyed!

Not at all haha! Amanda is NOTHING like Connie, I’ll say that now, although she is a savage queen. She’s really sweet and kind. Dom who played Andy is not brainwashed and is super nice so he isn’t really like that but is super kind and caring. Mike is absolutely hilarious. The others I don’t know well enough to say really.

On the contrary - I was desperate to watch the fingers going. I wasn’t needed in the scene as I wasn’t actually on camera so I was dragged back into my tent on location as everyone was paranoid about me getting cold but I did get to watch the bit where the caravan fell. Dom is SO GOOD.

To be honest I don’t know a massive amount more than was written in the script. Everything was kept in apart from a couple of lines in the car scene which weren’t really relevant. So I didn’t really have much backstory except my character summary which outlined my relationship with my family.

I think for that it was really just a case of getting into character. You can see how a 12 year old girl who loves her dad wouldn’t think twice about what she’s doing - to her it’s just a camping trip and she’s interested in the whole survival thing. The whole time I had to think more about how much I love my dad rather than the risks of the situation.

Thank you so much for the questions!
