Charlotte does not deserve the hate she gets. She’s a teenager who wants to be loved and was molested by her father. Her ‘weakness’ does not make her a bad character.
I’m sorry about the Berserk fandom’s loss. May Miura rest in peace, he made one of the best mangas of all time and I’ll make sure to look into the manga and original anime for Miura-san. :)
I am always troubled with how Griffith is framed as a villain mostly for sacrificing the band. What really cemented him as a villain for me was the rape of Casca. The deaths, if yet cruel, served a personal purpose for him while the rape was just to get back at Guts. I could see why someone would argue that the end justifies the means when it came to sacrificing the band of the hawk if the end goal was to create Falconia. But the rape served no purpose to his goal, he was just a fucking asshole. Man should have fell off his horse and died.
If anyone is with the supreme task of finishing Berserk, it would be an honor to have Tetsuo Hara and Buronson from Hokuto no Ken complete it!! Besides the obvious nerdgasm, HNK was one of Miura’s artistic influences.
While Guts does trigger absolutely awful memories of Cascas past, I think the real reason why she can’t stand seeing him is because she doesn’t want want to see him in a fate like Judeau or at worst the one Griffith is in now, she loves Guts too much to have memories to trigger thoughts like that.
