Bimboism is a sexual fetish revolving around the transformation of “normal” women into bimbos, a process called “bimbofication”. This process can be either voluntary or involuntary, happen through natural, supernatural, or sci-fi-like means, and it can be one that participants merely fantasize about or one they, to various extents, attempt in real life (in which case, of course, it can only happen through natural means).

There isn’t universal agreement in the bimbo community what exactly makes someone a bimbo. However, most can probably agree to these characteristics:

• Ditzy or outright dumb. This can either be interpreted as low IQ or simply that the bimbo spends her mental energy on things like dieting and sex tips, thus making her seem like an airhead when others talk about politics or current affairs. In fantasies, “dumbing down” usually takes place by the woman swallowing a pill or getting strapped into some apparatus that makes her dumber. People trying real-life bimbofication usually mimic the ditzy mindset or undergo different types of orgasm control to distract themselves.
• Fake. At least some parts of a bimbos appearance are fake, deliberate modifications to appear more attractive. This ranges from temporary changes, like dyeing her hair or hitting the tanning beds a lot, to more permanent changes like breast implants, lip injections, and tattoos.
• Slutty. Whether a bimbo sleeps around with lots of men or is in a stable relationship, the bimbo is sexually adventurous and not likely to turn down requests for sex. A bimbo is also more likely to engage in “porn sex”, doing things that other women would most likely consider degrading.
• Submissive. In contrast to the “maneater” who uses her attractiveness to get what she wants from men without caring about their needs, the bimbo is very concerned about being a “good girl”, making sure the man or men she’s with are satisfied. This can range from simply being very giving in bed to living in dom/sub relationships.

The majority of bimbo fetishists are men, wanting either to own a bimbo or, in the case of transsexuals or transgender men, to be a bimbo themselves. However, the fetish also has a small but growing female following.
