LIVE

There are many PoC out there who are funny. For example, Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy are both MoC and famous comedians. There are lot of non famous PoC who are also funny and have good senses of humour.

That being said, it really makes me uncomfortable when white people make photosets of various unnamed PoC doing physically funny things. Recently, a friend of mine reblogged a photoset of the Selfie Olympics which featured only black people and then tagged it “funny black people”.

When white people make these photosets it makes me feel like I’m watching some sort of minstrel show. These white people are only valuing these PoC’s ability to humour them and remain completely absent otherwise. Like somehow black people are only meant to be humour to white people.

I don’t know, overall this trend just makes me really uncomfortable.
