A close-up of a digital painting of the interior or Miranda's house. On the right wall are two shelves displaying porcelain plates and cups, and a table below the window with jugs, bottles and plates of fruit and bread.
A close-up of a digital painting of the interior or Miranda's house. Miranda sits towards the right in a wooden chair, facing the window and holding a teacup in her lap. She wears a dull green dress and has a downturned, sombre expression. Light streams in from the window on the right, highlighting the upper half of Miranda's body.
A close-up of a digital painting of the interior or Miranda's house. A fireplace crane holds a kettle on a hanger, with a stack of pots and plans sitting below. There are two small tables, the taller is covered by a table cloth with a teapot and tea cup on a tray, a pewter jug and mug. The lower and smaller bench has a container of harvested greens and a wooden bucket of carrots.

close-up details of “stagnation”, my art piece for @blacksailszine. post about the painting process coming soon !

Determined to get something, *anything* down on paper… Anne Bonny appears.

Flint earlier in his career… with a more tousled look ^_^ affy no weel at the moment…

A morning sketch… visiting my homeland for the first time in 2.5 years. Quite a bit has changed, but also things don’t.

This sketch I started before all the other lady pictures I’ve done recently, and I’ve gone back to it again and again… only I’ve been frustrated by the colors and other stuff. At one point the background was green. All sorts of brushes, none of which are doing what I’d envisioned. I’m posting this because everyone has this - stuff that’s just not working for them.

A quick ish procreate sketch… trying out brushes and loose backgrounds.

An Idelle Procreate sketch, this ended up being finer and less rough, than the previous 2, with the rusty nibs brushes.

A Procreate Anne Bonny using the rusty nibs brushes pack…

A Max procreate sketch using mainly engraving and nibs brushes from rusty nib set.

A Flinty gouache, most of which was done yesterday. This is about 4.5hrs. It looks different than the original, lovely burnt sienna turns very orange in my camera which I calmed down in the editing. I think it’s the black paper that’s making it over compensate.

Max from Black Sails. Gouache on black paper. About 3 hrs. Total learning curve, feel I pushed myself a bit. :)

Grappling with procreate from scratch… trying brushes… I’ve had this on the go for a couple of weeks. I’m done. Want to start something new…

Eme from Black Sails. Fountain pen on vellum and a bit of rotring pen in the background shading. My very old sketch of Eme got reblogged out of the blue this week, so I’ve done an update. ^_^

A Max sketch. Fountain pen on vellum.

“They took everything from us…” fountain pen on vellum. Flint sketch, hands don’t quite work, face works though.

Another Flint sketch. Fountain ink on vellum. I’ve missed posting on here. The comments in the tags of my recent one have been so lovely and encouraging. I’ve lost a bit of my confidence this year. Gonna gain it back. Healing.

A little Flint sketch. Fountain pen on vellum.
