I am very excited to announce that I’ll be vending at this year’s Bi+ Maker’s Market by the Bisexual Resource Center ! It will be all virtual from June 3-6, with 30+ vendors! I’m really glad I found this organization, not having much access to local queer community care where I live, so I wanted to share a few slides about them and their work. Theyre based in Boston so the fact that they’re doing virtual stuff to include folks without access to IRL spaces is really cool. They have a shop and donation page too! i have social anxiety but not “omg I’m sooo awkward” social anxiety, i have Special Autism Social Anxiety that actually makes me IMMUNE to awkward situations.
i have little to no ability to tell when a situation is awkward, much less if im the one making it that way

this is kind of a nebulous train of thought & doesnt need to be taken super seriously but the intersection of a lot of ‘gay vernacular’ just being AAVE and how you can ALWAYS tell when youre talking to a str8 girl by how badly she overuses it, similarly you can pretty much always tell youre talking to a white person based on how badly they overuse/ incorrectly use AAVE in general bc it’s “casual” or “funny meme speak” is interesting to me. like its very easy to spot pretty much 100% of the time when it’s someone who doesnt belong to one of those groups, except that the language pretty much all comes from black culture. the overlap being almost 100% white people is very clear
