You groan as you feel Marc pressing soft kisses to the back of your neck, gently pulling you from your sleep. Any other day, you would have been delighted to wake up in such a way. Except, this morning, you can see the pale pinks and oranges of the sunrises streaming through the window.

There was no time for a vacation during a war. You barely had even time to eat, shower, and sleep every day, let alone spend days away from your work. You made sure to take plenty of brakes, just enough to keep yourself from completely burning out.

Growing up, you had always loved the rain. Not only did it mean life and growth for your planet and your people, but it was calming. You always slept better when it was raining, especially during thunderstorms. The thrash of the rain combined with the booming energy of the thunder always managed to lull you right to sleep.
