Windir is a symphonic/folk black metal with an influences of epic black metal and viking black metal, history, vikings, war, misanthropy, and myth. The band is coming from Sogndal, Norway. It was found in 1994. It split-up in 2004 due ti Valfar’s early death [14th of January, 2004]. Rest in Peace!

The town was constructed entirely of wood and stands upon wooden pillars sunk into the bed of the Long Lake, south of the Lonely Mountain and east of Mirkwood. It seems that the town’s prosperity was built on trade between the Men, ElvesandDwarves of northern Middle-earth. It was also known as the final resting place of the DragonSmaug, whose bones ended up at the bottom of the lake, and by whom it was destroyed. […]”
