- Would perform magic tricks and use his ability to perform in front of friends and his dad
- His dad would often joke and play around with him

- Nikolais mom wasn’t always home but when she was she was abusive
- Nikolai: “I’m sorry mom! Please don’t lock me in the room again! I didn’t mean to-”
“SHUT UP! This is what you deserve! Maybe you can use your ability to TELEPORT OUT since you’re sooo special!”
- His dad explained that his mom is probably jealous that she’s not an ability user and he is
- “There is nothing wrong with playing with your ability once in a while. Just don’t hurt others, promise me that?”
- His promise would soon end when his father passed away and Nikolai ran away from home
- “Why are humans so horrible. I hate this! I hate feeling sad! I hate how people feel towards me! Maybe if I get rid of the people that makes me feelI can be free of this awful disgust!”
- 2 years later his mother was found brutally murdered

nikolai does not need to tell the waiter “he asked for no pickles” for sigma because sigma is Perfectly capable of telling the waiter they made a mistake on his own (he’d have been a shoddy manager if he couldn’t even do that). but sigma Also has to ask for no pickles for nikolai, not because nikolai is too shy / unwilling to do so on his own, but because nikolai literally cannot be trusted to interact with other human beings and sigma is tired of being banned from places for life
