_{One thing I really love about Gintama is how accurately it portrays different views on family relationships. Not only does it show how siblings relate to one another or how children view their parents, but also how the parents view their children. I feel like this is a perpective that isn’t brought up often in anime, because most series try to appeal to their audience which consists of mostly teenagers and young adults. No matter how great of a parent one may be, there will come a time when the child decides to break free and make their own decisions. Change is always bittersweet, both for the parent and child, but without change, there won’t be growth and that’s just a part of life we all have to accept. The fact that Gintama manages to include this important detail despite all the comedy, is amazing.}
