This time of year during the breeding season the males breast and head becomes more blushed red. A quote from a friend … “Looks like it’s been hit on the head by a raspberry” ha ha This was one of a pair that I saw flying in sync across the dense gorse and often landing in a tree. They like to hang upside down like a blue tit. Now you know what a Redpoll looks like , maybe you’ve never heard of one or seen one!
