Saint Mother Teresa - pray for us! You are the new face of volunteerism!
Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, you allowed the thirsting love of Jesus on the Cross to become a living flame within you, and so became the light of His love to all. Obtain from the Heart of Jesus (here make your request).
Teach me to allow Jesus to penetrate and possess my whole being so completely that my life, too, may radiate His light and love to others. Amen. Immaculate Heart of Mary, Cause of Our Joy, pray for me. Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, pray for me.
Canonization Day Saint Charles de Foucauld 1858-1916 Feast Day: December 1 Beatified in 2005 by Pope Benedict XVI
Saint Charles de Foucauld was born into an aristocratic French Catholic family but rejected the faith as a teenager and led a desolate life in the army. He was inspired to resume his faith while in Algeria, by witnessing the devotion of Jews and Muslims. He joined the Trappists, then was a sacristan for the Poor Clares, and in 1901 became a priest. Charles returned to Algeria and lived among the Tuareg people wanting to start a religious order that offered hospitality to all people regardless of their faith. Blessed Charles was shot to death at the beginning of World War I. {website}
