Everyone boasts the bumbling, blushing, mutual pining, fluffy, sweet Ladrien, but I’ve been learning lately to appreciate Ladrien crack. All the other sides get to have stupid wacky hijinks, and dammit Ladrien is no exception! It’s the sheer chaotic energy of Marinette trying to accomplish anything while partnered with Adrien but like times 2. Because he is also panicking and “omg she’s so hot better say something cool.”
Ladybug is usually the smart one, but when it comes to Adrien, they both suddenly share one brain cell. Rena Furtive just watching their dumbasses try to solve an akuma together like
Okay, but like consider: Alya wants to help Marinette tap that ass, and she’s usually more collected as Ladybug, so she decides to create scenarios to bring them together, like akumas that have it bad for Adrien. Alya knows Marinette won’t be able to resist.
So she creates an illusion akuma that targets Adrien, and Ladybug is like “my boy!” And things seem to be going well until Alya realizes that Ladybug gets tunnel vision when it comes to Adrien and absolutely must ensure he is safe. His safety is top priority. If he is not safe, no work can be done.
Meanwhile Adrien is just like heheh, no it’s fine just leave me in this closet, but secretly he’s like I would like to thank God and anime for being on my side today.
Anyway, Alya realizes that this mission is going to take a lot longer than she thought because her girl is HOPELESS. But dammit if she isn’t going to get one of those ships sailing. As Marinette’s certified bff, it’s her job to make sure her girl gets some. And she is always up for a challenge.
Marinette eventually finds out and is like “That’s so irresponsible and dangerous!”
Alya: I know. I’m sorry.
Marinette: Please, do it again!
Adrien doesn’t know what he’s done to make all these people mad at him, but boy is he sure happy to be in Ladybug’s arms a lot lately.
So a while ago, I reblogged a post from @lnc2 about an idea I had for an Animaestro rewrite to make it Ladrien, and I mentioned that I have several little scene/episode rewrites to make things Ladrien, so I thought I’d share a few more of them with all of you.
Glaciator: When Adrien doesn’t show up, Marinette decides to transform into Ladybug and go see if Chat still wants to hang out (or maybe she just wants to clear her head), but Chat has already gone back home, and Adrien is moping out in the garden by his mom’s statue. Their convo is especially angsty because they’re both fighting back the urge to be like “It’s you! You’re the one I’m in love with!” Then they both are concerned because the other one loves someone else.
Gorizilla (beginning): So, Marinette when she realizes she’s late meeting her friends decides to transform into Ladybug, and Adrien bumps into her which then turns into Ladybug running around town with him until they eventually end up at the movies together (still in disguise because now they’re both celebrities in need of hiding).
The Collector: Instead of waiting around for Chat to answer, she just goes straight to the Agreste mansion and bursts in on Adrien in his room like your dad is Hawkmoth, I gotta get you to safety, and he’s just like um? What? But she’s already picking him up, and he’s just like UM? WHAT??
I’ve already rewritten Party Crasher, but I still think about it a lot.
Reflekdoll: Lady Noire swoops in to save Adrien from being hit before Tikki finds him, and he is just like uhhhh, excuse me? Hello? Plagg?
Okay, another idea I decided against for the BB because I don’t want my BB fic to be too long, and I feel like this one needs a lot more development than I’d be able to give it in 6 months.
I’ve played with parts of this idea before, but I finally constructed an idea around it.
So, post-desperada Adrien decides that he isn’t done charming Ladybug. Aspik might not have worked out but that’s because he was trying too hard to be something he wasn’t. So, he’s going to stick to his two identities and charm her as both until one of them sticks.
Plagg thinks it’s a terrible idea, but Adrien doesn’t see how this could go wrong.
Gabriel has a new campaign out for his perfume brand, and Adrien agrees to go on Nadja’s show to promote it. The ad centers around young love, so Nadja asks if Adrien has anyone he loves. He admits that he does, but she doesn’t really see him. Nadja finds this hard to believe because he is the most desirable teen in all of Paris, but Adrien says that the girl he loves is even more incredible than he is, and he worries that she’s out of his league.
The producers daughter gets jealous that Adrien is in love with someone else, being a huge fan of him herself, so she gets akumatized, determined to rid Paris and the world of other girls so Adrien will only have her left as an option.
Adrien lays low, playing the damsel until Ladybug shows up to save him, and as she is carrying him to safety, he starts laying the charm on thick, boasting about how beautiful and strong and brave Ladybug is. How he’s so lucky she saved him. Ladybug is like uhhh you’re welcome? It’s my job, sooo
After they defeat the akuma, Adrien returns to the safe space Ladybug left him, and thanks her profusely for saving him again. Ladybug insists that it’s no big deal, but Adrien takes her hands and thanks her from the bottom of his heart. He’s knows that someone as beautiful and smart as her will take down Hawkmoth some day.
Ladybug is like
“I gotta go!”
Adrien returns to finish his interview, and Nadja points out how Adrien needs to be careful saying things so publicly because his fans might get jealous. Adrien chuckles and states that if anyone gets akumatized, Ladybug will always be around to save him. He has total confidence in her. Nadja says it seems he has a soft spot for the super heroine, and Adrien doesn’t deny it. Ladybug is strong and smart and beautiful.
After the interview, Marinette is pacing her room on cloud 9 because Adrien called her beautiful and smart! Tikki points out that he said those things about Ladybug, but Marinette insists that she IS Ladybug, so there. She gasps. What if Adrien is in love with Ladybug???
Now she is conflicted. If Adrien loves Ladybug, then that’s good because she is Ladybug, but it’s also bad because she can’t date him as a superhero. Can she? No! It’s too dangerous. She would never want to put him in danger. Though if Hawkmoth ever tried, he would absolutely catch these hands. But she could never live with herself if anything happened to him because of her. She hates to do it, but she’s going to have to let him down gently and hope he doesn’t get akumatized.
The next day, Ladybug approaches Adrien in the locker room after fencing, and he’s like omg it’s just like in my dreams.
He asks if there is an akuma nearby, but Ladybug says there isn’t, she is actually here to see him. Adrien is delighted and thanks her again for saving him all the time. He just wishes he could pay her back for everything she does for the city. Ladybug insists that it’s not necessary, but Adrien invites her to have dinner with him tonight. His chef always makes way too much food, and he would love to treat her. Ladybug says she doesn’t do what she does to get favors from people, so Adrien switches gears and says a date, then?
Ladybug is like oh shit, I wasn’t prepared for this. O fuck. She starts to decline, but seeing Adrien’s hopeful expression, she accepts. Back at home, she scolds herself for giving in, but she just can’t say no to Adrien. He’s too cute.
Tikki asks what she plans to do, and Marinette insists that she will stick to the original plan: she’s going to let him down gently at dinner. She will pop in, say she’s sorry but this can’t happen, then pop out before he has a chance to work that voodoo magic over her with his eyes.
The only problem is when she arrives she finds that Adrien has set up a romantic evening for them in his room. Candles, music, roses, chocolate.
Internally she’s like
Adrien is happy she could make it and invites her to sit down. Ladybug doesn’t object, but the whole dinner she is fighting an inner war between “omg he did all of this for me!” And “this is wrong I need to stop this.” But every time she tries to broach the subject, Adrien cuts in with sweet gestures. Giving her roses, spoon feeding her the most delicious creme brulee she’s ever had, telling her how happy he is that she came.
Finally toward the end of the evening, Adrien admits that he knows what she’s thinking: they can’t be together because she’s a superhero.
Ladybug is shocked, but she states that being with her could put him in danger, and she doesn’t want that. Adrien asks if she is in love with him, and when she can’t deny it, he asks if she thinks it’s not fair that she has to give up her own happiness to serve the city. Doesn’t she deserve to be happy? Ladybug says that knowing Paris is safe makes her happy, but at Adrien’s forlorn expression, she admits that it can be disheartening to always have to think of others before herself.
Adrien confesses that he’s in love with her, and his feelings for her won’t ever go away. If she doesn’t love him, he will leave her alone, but if she does, would she consider taking a chance at her own happiness for a change. After everything she has done for the city, she deserves to be happy too.
Ladybug is like fuck, fuck, fuck this wasn’t the plan. This was the opposite of the plan. His eyes are doing that thing. She’s losing her willpower.
Ladybug admits that she could never forgive herself if anything happened to him because he’s too precious to her. Adrien understands but has faith that she would always keep him safe. He believes in her. Ladybug is like well fuck and kisses him. When she gets back home, she realizes she opposite of broke up with him, but omg he’s so sweet and romantic and in love with her!!
Anyway, this is my big angsty Ladrien idea because obviously the two getting together can only go swimmingly/s. It features Marinette pretending to be sad for the girls, sneaking around to see her boyfriend, Gabriel being a snake ass bitch who doesn’t give two shits about his son’s happiness, then this is what me and my beta friend refer to as the “space dust ending.”
Forever ago, I posted this short concept idea I’d written where Ladybug and Chat Noir get defeated, and Gabriel accesses the ultimate power. In his arrogance from his triumph, he throws away the moth which Marinette and Adrien find after steeling their resolve to help despite not having powers.
Marinette transforms into Falena and makes Adrien her champion- Black Knight, who is basically a powered-up Chat Noir because of course she has to have her kitty by her side.
They fight a powered-up Gabriel who is utilizing the ultimate power, but during the battle, the wish he made starts to take its toll. Falena informs him that the wish comes with a terrible price, and Gabriel realizes he done fucked up as his body breaks down. He effectively thanoses himself into dust. He reaches out to Adrien and apologizes, and Adrien realizes that his father has been Hawkmoth this whole time. Gabriel tells Adrien that she should be awake before he fades away. Marinette and Adrien reclaim their Miraculouses, and Marinette asks what he means she’s awake. Adrien has an idea.
They return to the mansion to find his mother with Nathalie. Emilie asks where Gabriel is, but Marinette informs her that her husband sacrificed himself to save her. Emilie and Nathalie are distraught.
Anyway, I’m still ironing out details of this one, but the working title is “The Dangers of Love” and it’s Ladrien angst because their love almost costs them the world, but luckily Gabriel is just a huge simp.

Chapter 1
The elevator was cramped. Cold chrome walls encased every side, barely wide enough for one person, let alone two. Adrien huddled closer to his father, heart pounding, but his father didn’t look at him. He stood straight and stiff, eyes distant and pensive—typical. His father always seemed to be looking somewhere else ever since Adrien’s mother disappeared. Adrien never dared to imagine that those eyes kept secrets hidden beneath the surface. Secrets, he supposed, he was about to become privy to.
“Adrien, there’s something I need to tell you.”
When his father entered his room that morning, Adrien hadn’t anticipated being led to a secret elevator in his father’s studio. All of it felt like a secret agent movie. Was his father working for the government? Or maybe he had a secret lair full of gadgets and monitors like Knightowl. It was fun to think about, but the further the elevator dropped, the heavier the pit in Adrien’s stomach became. Where were they going? And what was his father hiding?
The elevator slowed to a stop, and Adrien stepped out as the door opened, wincing against the dim lighting. The cavern was cool and damp, stretching higher than he would have thought possible. How far underground had they gone? And how long had this been below their feet?
His father stepped out after him, pacing up the long runway without hesitation. Whatever the room was, his father must have come down often, for he didn’t seem to share Adrien’s unease.
Adrien scurried after him, working double time to keep up with his father’s long legs. He attempted to peek around him to see what lied ahead, but the aisle was too narrow and the cavern too dark. Goosebumps pricked his arms, and Adrien rubbed them with a ragged breath.
“Father,” he said, finding his voice, “where are we?”
“Somewhere I should have taken you a long time ago.”
The metal gave way to soft grass underfoot, tall plants and vines framing a large pod in the center. His father ran a hand over the top, his touch delicate, tender almost. A sad smile curled on his lips, and Adrien stiffened when he turned to him.
“I hoped we would never have to use this place. Your mother and I prepared it a few years ago.” His father’s smile faded. He pressed a button on the side, and the front of the pod opened, parting to reveal a glass box underneath. Lights clicked on, illuminating what lay inside.
Happy early Christmas to my dear sweet friend and fandom gemini twin @lnc2 I know life is rough for you, so I just wanted to gift you something to make you smile. I think about you a lot, and I really hope that one day things will look up for you and you will be able to find relief and regain your health. I’m glad we’re friends, and I wouldn’t want to push the ladrien agenda with anyone else. Hope you have a Merry Christmas! May canon gift us the Ladrien we long for!

Okay, so like akuma battle, right? Akuma is after Adrien, okay, so already we have some sweet, sweet Ladrien potential cause naturally Marinette was snooping and knows someone is coming for her boy, so akuma bursts in on Adrien minding his own business at home, Ladybug is right behind her, kay? With me so far?
So, Ladybug confronts the akuma and gives Adrien a chance to escape, and a few minutes later, in comes Chat Noir who finds that Ladybug and this akuma are making quite the mess of his room which is cool, fine, Ladybug will fix it all later, but things quickly become not cool beans when the akuma knocks Ladybug into his trophy case and out falls all of his secret Ladybug photos. and is trying to get to Ladybug before she can get up and realize what is sprawled out before her, so the akuma takes their moment of distraction as invitation to go get Adrien who they assume has fled somewhere into the house, and Chat is like oh no, Ladybug, Adrien Agreste is in danger, we should leave his room immediately and go save him because that is our job as superheroes, but Ladybug is just like
And Chat is like fuuuuu-
“Wow, looks like Adrien Agreste is a fan of yours, m’lady. Would sure be a shame if we let that akuma get to him, huh?”
And Ladybug is like shit, you’re right, so she runs off to find the akuma, meanwhile Chat is just like I will never recover from this. I’m so fucked. I have to move cities. She fucking saw them.
So he’s mortified the whole fight like oh shit, she knows, she’s gonna think I’m creepy and weird for hiding pictures of her, love is dead, but then he notices how distracted and flustered she is and how after the fight she is like, I must go make sure Adrien is okay, and Chat is like uhhh, I can do that, but she is like I MUST GO MAKE SURE ADRIEN IS OKAY!
So Chat is like ah, fuck, oh dear, oh no because the last thing he wants to do is have Ladybug confronting him about his photos, but nevertheless, he rushes home ahead of her, and is very stiff and why is it so hot in here? So Ladybug is relieved that he is safe, and he’s like yep, I’m so safe thanks to you, but I bet you need to go, right?
And she’s like yeah, but okay, so like you have some photos of me, I did not know you were a fan, and he’s like oooof course I’m a fan, you’re a superhero, duh, it’s not weird, and she’s like right, right of course, no, it’s cool, I have your face on my wall too, and Adrien is like what? And Ladybug’s like what? Uh-oh, I gotta beep-beep go, kseeyoulaterbye!
It’s a crime no one asked me for these because they’re my loves.

-Adrien doing the Chat things and Ladybug doing the Marinette things.
