A/N: I know this is really long, but I wrote it all in one sitting and felt weird trying to split it up. If heavy angst or themes about grieving or death is triggering, do not read this fic. It has a happy ending, however. :) I just really needed to get this off my chest.

The end of the Fourth Shinobi World War brought happiness, peace, and relief for the village. Loved ones were reunited, families were together again, and as the village got itself back on its feet, there seemed to be life in the air again.
Not everyone could enjoy it, however. You didn’t.
You went home alone after the war. You went home without your older brother, without him by your side, and without a smile on your face. You went home alone.
Others cheered, others ran to their families and cried in relief. You went home to an empty house. The house that you and your mother shared until she passed a few years earlier, the house that your brother moved into to keep you company.
It was empty once again.
