【Summary】

Actor Lou Yixiao (娄艺潇) plays Wu Zetian, and holds a prayer ceremony under the “Loshena Buddha Statue” in the Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang.

The statue of Lusena Buddha was excavated in the third year of Xianheng, Emperor Gaozong of Tang Dynasty (AD 672). Wu Zetian, who was the empress of Li Zhi at the time, she donated 20,000 money to the project, which is equivalent to more than 6 million Yuan (CNY) today in terms of the price of food at that time.

I always think of lotus ponds when I think of summer… maybe I’ll get a chance to take historical hanfu photos at an actual pond in the future instead of using a backdrop haha

I also would like to design and make a Chinese fantasy hanfu some time! This one looks quite nice for bought and altered (bodice addition etc) but I really want to create a super elaborate embroidered crazy detailed fairy costume in the Xianxia genre. Planning to go fabric shopping while I’m in LA next month!

I really felt like I was in a C-drama during this shoot hahaha! Do you like my props? I brought 3!

I ALMOST called this costume a Jiang YanLi cosplay but I don’t think she would wear so many hair accessories. Other than that, it’s pretty close actually?
Maybe I shall restyle this outfit with a different wig and do a Shijie YanLi photoshoot…

I’m supposed to post about my Black Friday sale but I feel like my feed is so advertising heavy right now and I wanna share this new photo of my lavender Hanfu! So here it is!
We squeezed this look into the last afternoon at @mobotgarden when the sun went away and it became decidedly colder. But @brian_b_boling still managed to get some pretty photos.
I altered an AliExpress hanfu and made a new bodice for it, and styled a @woofun_official lace front wig for this ensemble. The funnest part was placing all the hair sticks and clasps!

The Chinese garden is fairly small (but gorgeous) so whenever visitors came through, we’d move out of the main path. I became the authentically dressed maiden welcoming garden visitors to the Chinese pagoda for a couple of hours . Everyone was super understanding and kind about us taking photos which I really appreciated!

This was truly one of the best photo excursions I’ve ever done and I can’t thank @animestl enough for helping us arrange this opportunity! Also can’t wait to go back to the event next May!!
