Sheep’s Head Peninsula is a finger of land protruding into the Atlantic Ocean in West Cork. Part of the Wild Atlantic Way and sandwiched between the larger Mizen Peninsula to the south and the Beara Peninsul to the north. The peaceful remoteness is calming and the views are spectacular. This is a walkers paradise, some of the trails are challenging so hiking boots or trainers needed for sure. Thank you for your visit I hope you enjoy.

Glengariff is a small seaside village on the Ring Of Beara surrounded by rugged mountains pocked with old bogs that are farmed for peat. We had a perfect Irish day mild, warm even and so lovely. This is a wide angle view of the bay from where we took a boat trip out to Garnish Island (Ilnacullin). Thank you for your visit I hope you enjoy.

Italian Garden Garnish Island by Dora Meulman

The Gardens on Garnish Island are the result of the creative partnership of Annan Bryce and Harold Peto, architect and garden designer. The island was bequeathed to the Irish people in 1953, and was subsequently entrusted to the care of the Commissioners of Public Works. A beautiful magical place so much to see I can’t show it all which is a shame but I hope you like this image here. Thank you for your visit I hope you enjoy.

Garnish Island is located in the shelter of Glengarriff Harbour in Bantry Bay. Warmed by the waters of the Gulf Stream, this island and its unique gardens enjoy a climate that is almost sub-tropical, making it possible for beautiful ornamental plants to flourish.
