#cobalts after effects mishaps

LIVE

Had to animate a simple walk cycle for my 2D Anim I class. My teacher suggested a stick figure to start.

Well… I came up with a stick figure, alright. Tried to make this one feel vaguely unsettling. :)

My 2D Animation I instructor asked us to do more ball bounce animations, this time with balls of different weights and physics based on reference video. Once again, I took things too far and built a rig for it. This rig is more advanced than the one I made for Nightmare’s bounce. Figured I’d share a little behind-the-scenes glimpse into how it all works, on the surface.

I’m not quite sure yet if I’ll use this single rig for all of the bounces I have to do, or if I’ll make new rigs for all three of the bounces. I’m leaning towards the latter, bcuz I want them to look and behave differently based on the kind of ball I’m animating.

Rip. Here I go making things waytoo complicated for myself!

2D Animation I Assignment: Do a simple ball bounce in After Effects.
Me: ‘Simple’… I don’t follow.

Listened to this for most of the time I was working on this.
