@soulstxr this you

I’m guilty

I’m ranting again, but this time it’s spoilers so read at ur own risk

so quite obviously The Director is the mole in Requiem. He fed Omega every bit of intel hoping it would escalate into what it did: one side gets the Forsaken, but both sides are dismantled in the long run

he was the one to tell Peck that Samantha was dangerous, and ordered him to go against Kravchenko’s orders and shove her in the Dark Aether. it was a surprise to both of them that Strike Team rescued her, but it was smthn Director was capable of handling!

you don’t shove all ur eggs into one basket, after all

What’s interesting to me is that Director had the utmost faith in Peck’s ability to fuck everyone over. Peck may have approached him with the promise of Zykov, (and by extension, The Forsaken, [banking off of Peck not knowing the two were one in the same until Operatsiya Izbavitel]), but it truly was the Director that pulled all strings.

Peck knows the Director’s identity, at the very least, his title and significance to the group, but only refers to him as “Argus.” My only knowledge of Argus stems from the 100-eyed creature in mythos, which would again make sense since he quite literally had eyes everywhere. Someone accidentally intercepts a strange message? Dead. Someone finds out there’s a hierarchy in the Dark Aether too soon? Captured.

There’s too many thoughts to string together, but it’s extremely interesting to see just how deep the rabbit hole went! Not to mention the absolute madness that had to occur for Director’s plan to go off without a hitch

i got more info on the Director that I think is p cool, but it’s kinda w/e in the long run smfjcjekc

Spoilers just in case!

according to Carver’s findings, Director is multilingual, knowing Russian, French, German, Italian, and English.

Before becoming Director of Requiem, Director was the Associate Deputy Director of the “Office of Extra-Regular Activities,” a sub-division of the Directorate of Science & Technology. (they make technological advances so the CIA can get more information, essentially). The group’s specific duty was specializing in clandestine sciences… whatever that is…

that previous job would explain why he’s so “in-the-know” about quite literally everything. It’s his bread and butter!

and the final thing; Carver has met the Director, but neither him nor Weaver actually knows his name. Every lead Carver attempts to make, it’s met with empty files and redacted memos.

And apparently, the Director is considered a “pretty nice guy.”

Peck, bothering me while I’m fixing the Teleporter: Zykov already picked a favourite; ME. So turn around now before you get hurt >:D

Me:

Jager and Gorev have a hesitant alliance if/when the Forsaken plan goes to shit, but their dynamic is less “you don’t like me and I don’t like you” and more like “gimme your lunch money or I’m shoving you out of the hind”
