The International Buster Keaton Society are celebrating their 30th year! And that deserves a gift - for YOU! We’re dropping our membership fees to $30 wherever you are in the world - that’s a saving for everyone, including us as profits go towards our preservation work.  More at busterkeaton.org/membership

#MovieMonday “Steamboat Bill Jr.,” 1928 was Buster Keaton’s final independent film.  It is arguably best known for the housefront stunt which has been much imitated, but never equalled.  The gag started with Roscoe Arbuckle & Buster kept running with it until it reached its climactic end.

“Back Stage” is one of the shorts that will be shown at our 2022 International Buster Keaton Society Convention: Buster’s Back.  Find out more & sign up here: busterkeaton.org/convention-2022

This Day in Buster…April 23, 1917

“The Butcher Boy,” Buster Keaton’s movie debut, is released.  His first scene was for many years the longest single take debut in cinema history.  We’re not sure who beat it.  Do you know?

#SaturdayCaptions Caption this group shot from Buster Keaton’s movie debut in the Comique production, “The Butcher Boy,” released 105 years ago today!

A scene that made the cut in ‘Back Stage’, 1919…perhaps with different music ;)

I honestly can’t believe how many rabbits I’ve been drawing lately

Buster Keaton didn’t sign all of his autographs, Natalie Talmadge often signed for him way back during their Comique days.  She’d had practice, signing for sister Constance too! I’d say this one was all his though ;)
