#commute sketch

I finally got some breathing space to draw, so I got myself a new fountain pen to pamper myself. I doubt I’ll ever write much with it tho. The nib is rather “scratchy”. As a writing pen, it doesn’t write as smoothly as I would like. However.. as a drawing pen, it hits all the right spots for me. I absolutely love the colors too.

Playing with the fountain pen & water brush combo again. Used an Indian ink marker for some color. Repeated use will stain my water brushes, so am using an old one just for this. Also added some gold ink.

Part of today’s page of warm up sketches. Got a new fountain pen that comes with water soluble ink. Add a little water from a water brush pen and voila! Downside, can’t play with watercolours over it.

Trying to pick up my drawing routine on commute again. (It’s actually the only free time I have these days to draw something non work related. I kinda stopped due to the heavy stuff I have to carry. Was very lucky in getting a space to lean on today.

Not much free time today. Took out my least favourite pen to doodle to mix things up a little.

When it suddenly rains, it brings forth some spontaneous fashion choices. Saw this guy with a transparent neon bag, each handle looped around each of his ears at that time.

Since my usual inking pen ran out of ink, decided to give my other brush pen a go. Still getting used to it.

It has very deep black ink, which is lovely. However, it dries slowly and attempting to erase pencils afterward will lift off some shine of the ink. Guess I can use it for filling flat areas after inking.

Mercedes (Odin Sphere)
She was one of my favourite characters to use. But then again, I like shumps. I think her story felt a little lacking tho. I hope the character plots are more filled out in the new version.

The thing about markers are limited range of colours. They aren’t as portable as my watercolours. I accept this challenge.

Another quick one today. Realised I haven’t used the blue markers much yet. These aren’t water soluble.

Something quick and stylised today. Another attempt with the red brush pen.

I ran out of time when I got to the dress. Don’t quite like the gold brush pen yet.

I used to draw this character sometime ago. But her colours would always be in the blue range. Decided to play with other colours and limited myself to 4 colours today. I feel the need to look for a commute sketchbook that can hold more washes of watercolour.

Momo (モモ), Breath of fire 3
Drew her on commute sometime back. Decided to give this one a quick colour. Think I am going through a redhead phase. I adored her back then because her weapon of choice was a bazooka. (which I forgot to draw )
