“Vanitas’s mom dying during childbirth means that Vanitas has no good feelings about his birthday :D he’d treat his birthday as the death anniversary of his mother. He wouldn’t even be the type to forget it’s his birthday, he’d just remember it every year as the day his mom died. He wouldn’t let himself forget his mom’s death anniversary.“

“What if it was luna who turned faustina directly into neania? It seems like the vampires “killed” her, as Loki said they destroyed her corpse. But how did she turn into neania then? I’m guessing Luna did something, maybe she needed her power to save vanitas&misha. Maybe it one of her attempt to save vanitas&misha? And she was like welp you gotta help sis. Luna turning vani&misha into her kins seems to have been saved in the case that she she doesn’t find a cure, so she probably searched for many before she used the very last measure she had. It would explain why vanitas seems to know neania, he probably guessed Luna did something to her when they were searching for a cure.“

“I’m fairly new to the fandom, and I don’t understand why a lot of people hate VaniJeanne? I’m a multishipper (I actually ship all four main characters with each other) and so I thought that was common, only to see that some people hate on the other? It doesn’t really make any sense why would you hate on other ships (unless it’s illegal and support p*dophila ofc). I just really find it weird seeing people afraid to express that their main ship is VaniJeanne when it shouldn’t be.“

“I still can’t fully trust votbm even though I really want to! Vanitas’s present hostility toward them is not normal, that’s not a reaction you have towards someone whose saved you, no matter how you traumatized you are about them dying.  Mochizuki has done biased narrations before, and has done plot twists that turn the seemingly genuinely kind character from the past actually evil. I’m still expecting there to be a dark side to votbm’s relationship with vanitas and possibly even a possessive one. Remember that one colored cover with them & vanitas? With votbm gripping vanitas and holding him close to them? Vanitas seeming so resigned and so used to it? Yea… maybe I’m overthinking it but I doubt that was supposed to give us fuzzy and warm feelings. Although I do agree that vanitas has a degree of fondness towards them as much as hostility, but considering how he was raised by them since a kid, that fondness is too be expected.“

“Votbm be like canonically telling stories to vanitas on how hot she found Jeanne, and calling Vanitas’s mom beautiful, and then have the fandom be like “oh she and teacher together. And noe was made.” Votbm deserves better. Also wow do I immensely dislike the theory of noe being votbm’s son… it’s so… cringe. Cause like of course the protag is the long lost biological son of this OP character. SHOCKER!!! PLOT TWIST!!! God help me this theory is so cringe. If mochizuki goes down to this path, I will seriously be so disappointed. It’s so shounen manga typical, If I wanted this trope I’d go read Naruto (and the hundreds other mainstream shounens) not vnc.“

“I feel too much despair when I think seriously about how vanitas is going to die at the end of all of this. He’s been through SO MUCH PAIN, and to think even after all of that pain he still won’t receive a happy ending. It just makes me feel empty tbh. Though I admit it’s good storytelling nonetheless.“

“Why would people want noe to be votbm’s son? It’s so boring, typical, and honestly really cliche for the protagonist to be the long lost son of a powerful entity. I hope mochizuki keeps it as Vanitas & Misha being her only children, it’s way more interesting how she’s adopted them, raised them, and even seems to have grown to deeply love them. Anyway I’d really rather votbm to not have any children besides the two she adopted.“

“I do wonder how long Vanitas and Misha’s life expectancies are or if they even age. I believe they can live longer than most humans, and age just a little slower.“

“Misha was so sure that Vanitas killed Votbm so I thought he might have witnessed him killing them, but they seem to have only seen them turning into dust in Vanitas’s arms…. either way I doubt Vanitas killed Votbm. All evidence up to now hints that Votbm chose to die. I’m assuming the power to change them into her kins is not an easy feat, and took substantial damage on their bodies, but they chose to do it anyway and died shortly after turning Vanitas to their kin. It would explain why Vanitas also refuses to tell Misha the truth, cause Misha would just blame himself, and knowing Vanitas he would choose to take the burden on himself rather than have Misha carry it. The only thing I don’t understand is Vanitas’s current repulse at Votbm, I was expecting something more dark to have happened between them to have garnered the reaction that he has toward them when Domi mentioned them. Them dying for him maybe? But his dad did the same thing. What is it about Votbm that has him have such a different reaction, to the point where he’s on a revenge agenda against them, even though they are already dead?“

“Knowing what we know now, the blood drinking between vanitas & votbm was likely nonconsensual. I think the wounds he had when he met Dante where from how much he resisted. Fortunately, the blood drinking seems to have only happened because votbm wanted him to live so,,, it’s all just really sad but nothing too dark.“

“I think after the latest chapter, it’s so safe to say that I believe vanitas’s revenge isn’t exactly saving vampires, but him dying as a result of it. Votbm clearly made him her kin with the intention that he lives. So him dying is the revenge. It would make what she did completely for nought. And what better way to die than to also be saving the vampires she hates on the way? I think the whole “rewriting” concept is essentially him slowly dying as a result of using the power of the votbm. His body is not completely human anymore, but it nonetheless possess human qualities that likely make him incompatible with using a power of a vampire, and one as strong as votbm.“

“I wonder how many years vanitas & misha spent with votbm? I’m betting at least 3-5 years. They both looked closer to the ages they are in the present when the chapter began approaching votbm’s death. I believe vanitas might been at least 11 or 12 when he was rescued by her, and going by appearances alone, I believe he was around 15/16 when she died. And now he’s 18, so I think it’s also been only three or possibly even two years since she died. (I hate mochijun for making me do math)“

“since Jun Mochizuki in PH created, personally, one of the best plot twist I ever read, I can’t stop thinking that Vanitas didn’t kill VOTBM?!? in ch 40 he said he knew Chloe face and described it as one’s who decided to die alone. what if VOTBM, after marking him and Misha, decided to disappear?“

“I love how it’s vanitas with the wife material in this manga it’s so funny and cute. He cooks, he cleans, he keeps the house tidy. (Noe and Jeanne can’t do shit, and domi relies on servants)“
