Chapter 25: Love Once Lost
The entire island rumbled from the breaking of the seals. Vul’kar’s brethren were now climbing out of the ocean floor, slowly rising to the surface. The darkness was spreading, ready to swallow the sun whole. A beam from the broken seal stretched upward to the sun, and it started to gradually turn black, little by little. The shadows began to creep over the land and all Zarazu could do was watch the event unfold as she held Covarog against her. His blood was soaking her tattered wedding dress, and he struggled to cling to life. His heart was damaged, and no matter how much magic she tried to pour into him, it was not enough to save her husband. Yet, what did it matter now? It was too late. Darkness had won. Within a matter of minutes, the light would be no more. The plan did not work.
All hope was lost.
AAAAAH the feels!!! This is so beautiful!! What a beautiful conclusion to this story! Thank you soooo much for writing this masterpiece!! Ah I’m so happy with the ending~!! <3 <3 <3
Chapter 24: From Dark to Light
Sunlight drained his power. Therefore, Vul’kar would usually only visit Hastarfelri when night had arrived. He recalled the evenings the two of them spent wrapped in each other’s arms. Just before dawn, he would awake to find her sleeping deeply from the night of passion. Her beautiful, platinum hair sometimes cascaded over her face. Vul’kar sometimes spent a little while watching her before he had to return to the depths below. He hated leaving, but the Abyssian King had a duty to his people as well as his mate.
The best days, however, were those when Hastarfelri would visit him in his home. In the Chasms, there was a special plant which grew near the thermal vents. The algae had magical properties which allowed those who were not of the Chasms to thrive underwater in the pressure and cold. The effects of the algae could be temporary or permanent depending upon the strain. He would meet her at the surface and then descend back to his kingdom once she consumed the algae. It had the loveliest effect on his Star. She would grow gills, webbing between her fingers and toes, and even a small patch of scales under her eyes and on her shoulders. This way, she could stay with him down in the cold and dark Chasms.
Aaaaaah that damn cliffhanger but i love it~!!! Thank you so much~!! I missed this story so much~!! Dammit, they were so close!!! GaAAAAH more torture~!!!
