Veela fics are not my usual pick but I haven’t read dark comedy in forever and I just couldn’t resist such an intriguing summary. Turns out this was a fun, unfairly hot and quite refreshing read! I love the bizarre concept of Veelas as man-eaters and Draco’s insufferable voice is fabulous - he’s found his perfect match in this mysterious, broken Harry and their antagonism is deliciously strained, dangerous and sexy. Unhinged Drarry is a mood™ and this fic made me crave it even more. Their chemistry is off the charts and that hot sequence with Harry yanking the chains while reciting all the reasons why he hates Draco took my breath away! I love this fic’s intriguing atmosphere and the way the author portrays a disorienting mix of vicious resentment and burning, all-consuming hunger. Their need is desperately physical and raw, something that could only culminate in almost religious sex, featuring filthy fingering, rough fucking and a fabulous mating moment this was hands down of the hottest and most satisfying smuts I’ve read lately, intense and debauched, thak god I was at home because I might have blushed a little on top of that, the writing is fantastic, rich, engaging, visceral and full of brilliant analogies (pinned butterfly? St. Sebastian shot full of arrows?? Cock au vin??? RIP me). If you’re into Veela fics I can’t rec this enough, it’s a must read. And if you’re here only for the crack!horror and smut like me, let me tell you: you won’t regret it one bit ;)
