you’re eating lunch with the knights while albedo studies some topic that you forgot the name of. you’re not pressuring him to eat much, but you’d prefer that he does so he doesn’t get light-headed again.
you tap your boyfriend’s shoulder and hold your spoon to his lips. “albedo, open up really quick.” you prompt him gently.he doesn’t look away from his book, but he turns his head slightly and opens his mouth as you requested, taking the spoonful and humming in approval. you huff a small laugh through your nose and kiss his cheek before turning back to the other knights, who are staring at you two with their jaws on the ground. “what?” you ask, taking another spoonful of food.
kaeya gives you a look. “i didn’t realize you had our chief alchemist on such a tight leash.” he teases.
you feel the food start to go down the wrong pipe and cough harshly. you actually feed him that way pretty often when you’re alone, so you just acted on instinct. you feel your face heat up as lisa and jean join kaeya in laughing. “that’s not–” you start.
albedo speaks up for you. “they do not have me on a leash, kaeya. they simply care about my well-being. now can you please refrain from teasing my partner? it’s a little loud.” with that, the chief alchemist dives right back into his book, but not after guiding your spoon to his mouth again.
there’s a brief, stunned silence before conversation picks up again. beside you, jean taps your knee and subtly gestures to albedo.
when you peek over at him, you see his ears burning a bright red.
