Armando Iannucci’s madcap, colour-blind Copperfield is a delight, and one which feels sadly overlooked - I think because it took reviewers by surprise. Modern Dickens adaptations can be a bit dreary, and I get the sense that reviewers (and audiences) don’t really know what to make of a Dickens that plays up the zaniness of its source material. In any event: Dev Patel!
