Atropa belladonna, also known as Atropine, Belladonna or Deadly Nightshade, has some pretty crazy or

Atropa belladonna, also known as Atropine, Belladonna or Deadly Nightshade, has some pretty crazy original uses. The name comes from Atropos, one of the three Fates in Greek mythology who decided how you would die. Being familiar with the name, I don’t think I would have wanted to use it as makeup, but I guess I’m the odd one out here.

Cleopatra, on her conquest to kill like everyone in her family and rule Egypt with her illegitimate little Caesar son, had a few tricks up her sleeve. She knew how to get Caesar to do what she wanted and she wasn’t afraid of a little foreplay. In her conquest, make up was obviously used. Just like when I go out to a bar to sequester an unsuspecting victim with my cat eye (inspired by her, obviously) Cleopatra knew how to use that khol and dilate those pupils! Thats right, she dilated her pupils. Dilated pupils is a sign of sexual attractedness and just general down-to-fuckness, so Cleopatra used atropine in her daily make-up routine.

Cleopatra wasn’t the only one, women during the renaissance (hence the italian belladonna in the name) and even in 18th and 19th century France used belladonna to improve their physical appearance. So what? Well, besides being called DEADLY NIGHTSHADE for a reason and being super poisonous, side affects of atropine include some long sciency names for what i think is being super stuffed up, dizziness, confusion, loss of balance, DISSOCIATIVE HALLUCINATIONS, dry mouth, photophobia, oh and death. NBD. So you look good but you might get confused and suddenly think you’re fucking a monster from the hallucinations, or get really confused and hit on a hat rack, or I dunno, decide its a good idea to roll yourself up in a really hot wool rug and be carried through the streets of Egypt on a hot, 100 degree afternoon so maybe you can have sex with someone who is 40 years your elder.

In general, i think ill just drink tea with saffron, cinnamon and cardamum if I really need a kick to my sexual drive, but I think if I need anything its a kick down to my sexual drive.
